remaining in the mid to upper 70s.

southeast, southern, and southwest Oklahoma and northern Texas.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Chances for rain continue to increase for the Wednesday-Thursday period as a weak front moves into the area. This likely won't be a drought buster but will be the best chance for rain we have seen in several weeks.

While we're also eagerly awaiting the chance for rain by the middle to end of this week, we will remain stuck in our stubbornly hot and mostly dry pattern until then.

[8/29/2026 5:20 pm] A wildfire is burning near US-62 between Indiahoma and Cache in western Comanche County and is spreading north. Emergency Management officials are urging people between in the area bounded by Lee Road & Rogers Lane, and between Post Oak Road & Quanah Road to evacuate.
