I had the great pleasure of photographing the Ford family this past Fall. They agreed to model for me while I work on restarting my portrait photography business. They were so patient with me and have such a beautiful and loving family.

I do not have the super fancy $8,000-$10,000+ camera equipment that the planetariums have, or that some full-time professional photographers have for that matter. But I do love the beauty of the night sky and I do have a decent camera with a 300mm lens. The picture is what I was able to capture Monday night with my little old set-up during Monday's great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn (the Christmas star). Jupiter was 550 million miles from Earth, while Saturn was 1 BILLION miles away from Earth - and yet my little camera lens caught a hint of Saturn's rings. Wish I'd had a telescope available to get better pictures. Ah well. It was a really neat, memorable evening with my kids and mom out in the darkness with nothing but the sound of an owl hooting - which really creeped my family out. 🤣😂😲

Dusting the several years worth of cobwebs off the camera for an upcoming photoshoot. Glad I was able to get a willing v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶, errr, model to let me practice. 𝙇𝙊𝙏𝙎 more practice happening in the coming days. Volunteers happily accepted.
