As an ID I created cutting-edge online training courses all the while advancing my photography skills. Before driving in an MGMiget from Chicago to western National Parks in 1971 I asked my grandma if I could take her Kodak range finder camera with me. She showed me how to use it; that was my first photography lesson. Not many of the color prints turned out but it was a start. After winning the $5
00 Kerker Quinn Creative Writing Award for Poetry at the University of Illinois I purchased my first SLR camera an Olympus OM-1 and shot, developed and printed B&W film exclusively. I continued to advance my creativity by taking graduate photography and cinematography classes at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Around 1992 I started to experiment with digital cameras and when the iPhone came out I was sold on the digital format. Today I mainly shoot with the iPhone 14 Pro and a DSLR Sony a7r3 full-frame mirrorless camera. Photography Instructor for:
