A BTS glimpse of what’s been working for my reels lately:

AUDIO

Audios with 20k views and under seems to be my sweet spot. For my brand specifically, using cozy, acoustic and vintage/jazzy audio resonates with my audience.

TYPE

My audience (especially non-followers) connect more with trending, b-roll style reels that showcase me & my personality.

CAPTION

Medium length captions (5-8 sentences) allow me to pack in strong keywords and add value but without giving viewers an entire book to read.

I wanted to share these reels tips with you guys NOT to say this is what you should do exactly, but to reiterate what you should be looking for when finding what works best for your brand & audience!

Story About My Wedding Florist:

Back when my husband and I were engaged + started looking for wedding florists, the process started by looking for vendors that reflected my style visually. I found 2 vendors that all had similar styles and either would have visually delivered what I wanted. I met with both and I actually almost booked the other because she was the first one I met with + I haaaate confrontation.

What sold me on the other florist?

Our connection.

I think this is a lesson that extends to our SM…

Your work is so good and so valuable but so are you.

What you create is not the entirety of who you are and that’s a good thing!

As professionals, we get so focused on showcasing our work (don’t get me wrong, that’s definitely important). But giving your audience a glimpse of the person they’re working with is VITAL to your strategy.

Yes, you want your audience to connect with your work but you also want them to connect with YOU.
