Not only was I getting to document her college senior year after photographing her the last few years, but we also took a little extra time to include her dog, Oliver, after they had recently found out he was sick. He crossed the rainbow bridge the next day.
As a photographer, moments like these carry a different kind of weight when I'm editing and realize what these photos will mean. I'm very thankful these images exist for her now, especially for someone I care so deeply about.
Additionally, I normally resist flash like a cat resists water, always opting for natural light because I thought that is where my specialty lived. But I'm finally starting to step into the world of flash a little more and honestly... why was I resisting it so hard? I still love natural light immensely, but man, I think I've been missing out.
