There’s a moment right after the ceremony when everything shifts. The formality lifts. The day becomes yours again.
For Brittany and John, that shift came with a champagne tower at the end of the aisle. Bottles popped, glasses filled, guests helping themselves on the way to cocktail hour. It set a tone for the rest of the evening that was just effortlessly celebratory.
And then came the quiet part. A vintage Hacker-Craft waiting at the dock. Brittany and John climbed aboard, their guests waving from the shore as the boat pulled away from The Sagamore and out onto Lake George. We made our way to a little spot called Turtle Island for portraits, just the four of us and the most incredible early September sky. Late summer in the Adirondacks has this quality where the light feels like it’s holding its breath. Storm clouds were rolling in over the mountains, and honestly, we couldn’t have styled it better if we tried.
This is the kind of wedding day we live for. When one moment pours into the next and the whole thing feels like a story worth telling.
