What a great day surrounded by photography!

I had the opportunity once again to serve as the photography judge for The Great Allentown Fair, and I have to say, this year’s entries made my job anything but easy.

As the official judge for the photography exhibit, I had the chance to work my way through an incredible number of photographs covering such a wide range of subjects and categories. There were so many really good images, from beautiful landscapes and portraits to animals, nature, everyday moments, and some wonderfully creative ideas.

One of my favorites might not surprise anyone who knows us at Willow Street Pictures… this dog portrait earned a blue ribbon. 🐾

What also deserves recognition is the great group of volunteers working behind the scenes. There is a tremendous amount of time and effort that goes into organizing all of these entries and getting an exhibit like this ready for everyone to enjoy.

Congratulations to everyone who entered, and to all of this year’s ribbon winners. It was a pleasure getting to spend the day looking at your work.

It's International Cat Day!

And anyone who shares their home with a cat knows... cats have their own ideas.

That's part of what makes photographing them so much fun.

We give them time to explore, get comfortable, and simply be themselves. That's often when the best moments happen.

Happy 4th of July from our family to yours!

It has certainly been a different summer than we ever imagined, but today we’re especially grateful for moments like these and for seeing Helen smiling.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with prayers, cards, messages, meals, and encouragement over these past several weeks. Your kindness has carried our family through some very difficult days, and we are more thankful than words can express.

Helen still has a long road of rehabilitation ahead, but we’re taking it one day at a time and celebrating every little victory along the way.

We hope you and your family have a safe, happy, and meaningful Independence Day.

Making the commute to Harleysville this morning, I was reminded just how fortunate we are to have this little hidden gem only steps from our studio.

The peaceful pond, historic barn, and walking paths make it a wonderful place to pause for a few minutes before the phones begin ringing and the cameras come out.

Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the special places that are right in our own backyard.

This little park has become one of my favorite spots to start the day and appreciate the beauty of the community we call home.

Wait for it… 🫧
There’s something about a bird discovering bubbles for the first time that just makes you smile.
Rio didn’t follow a plan.
He followed curiosity.
One second he’s perched, the next he’s lifting into the air, wings wide, moving through light and something completely unexpected.
These are the moments you can’t really plan…
you just create the space for them to happen.
And when they do, they stay with you.

This is where Kate feels most at home.
As our Custom Picture Framer at Willow Street Pictures, she approaches each piece with a quiet precision… carefully selecting matting that draws out the natural tones within the portrait, allowing the personality to settle into the room.
It’s never just about the frame.
It’s about how the piece will live… and how it will feel, years from now.
Kate is also a cat lover herself. At home, her cat Reese is a small but constant reminder of why this work matters so much.
And in the end, when the piece is ready, there’s a simple moment… a step back, and a warm hello.
