This past weekend we had our 3rd edition of “Swiftwater Chronicles” aka Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads Swiftwater Rescue Level I on the one and only Ocoee River.

We had great weather and great water for the class. Friday & Saturdays water was much colder than usual this time of year and certainly much colder than the first two classes. It certainly made us consider our dry suits lol.

We had a full class of first responders from all over the southeast and they came ready to learn a valuable skill to assist them in becoming more prepared for the next flooding event in their community.

Thank you as always to all the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads instructors and support staff that help make these classes a huge success. We simply can’t do this without you. It’s truly an honer to serve and volunteer with each of you.

Absolutely my favorite time of year. It’s Swiftwater Rescue training season and the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads Swiftwater Rescue classes are in full swing. Class #2 is in the books after another successful weekend on the world famous Ocoee River.

What an honor it is to be able to do this and to be a part of this incredible nonprofit organization and program.
