THIS MAYSVILLE BUILDING IS ONLY 9 FEET WIDE.

Located at 210 Market Street, this narrow three story building is believed to date back to around 1897.

I love walking around Maysville and seeing all of the different buildings. I’ve been out here many times and still find new things to see every time.

Spent the whole day shooting all over Maysville, Kentucky, for Visit Maysville.

Every time I visit this town, I love it a little more.

If you haven’t been here, go.

If it’s been a while, go.

If you were just here last week, go again.

Take a street you’ve never been down. Find a new spot. Try a locally owned restaurant you’ve never eaten at. Stop in a shop you’ve always walked past.

These small towns are important. They’re full of history, character, locally owned businesses and people who take pride in their communities.

Get out and explore them. Spend a little time and money there. It matters…These towns have so much life in them. Let’s help keep it that way.

THE OLD JACK SORRELL CABIN IN RED RIVER GORGE

Just down the hill from Sky Bridge, along KY 715, sits this old log cabin that I’ve been stopping to photograph for years.

I’ve photographed it in just about every season, from the bright greens of summer to the fall colors and snow-covered winters. It’s one of those places I always stop to see whenever I’m exploring the Gorge.

The cabin has been boarded up for as long as I can remember, and the Forest Service maintains the property.

Carved into the foundation are the words “Jack Sorrell 1939.”

I’ve spent some time researching this cabin and haven’t been able to find much of anything about its history. No confirmed construction date, no information about who lived here, or what it was originally used for.

I’m sure there’s a story behind this old place, but for now, it’s one of those little pieces of Red River Gorge history that remains a mystery to me.

Is it too soon to talk about Santa?? Yes, it absolutely is but I wanted to remind everyone locally that Covington Claus is the real Santa.

I’ve found myself avoiding Santa’s bc they aren’t convincing and Mason sees through everything. This Santa will buy you another year or more if you only let them see him. He will NOT break character. Takes his time and makes magic happen.

Book with this Santa. Business owners, this is the one you want, just trust me.

AFROMAN LIVE AT THE RED RIVER GORGE! 📸

📍 Toad’s BARn & Grill, Red River Gorge, Kentucky

I ended up photographing Afroman this past Monday, and here’s how that happened.

Toad’s posted about Afroman coming to the Red River Gorge, and I commented that I love Afroman.

They replied, “Come photograph it.”

I know this is a little different from the stuff I usually share, but I enjoy photographing just about anything. I’m always up for trying something new, and I had a great time shooting this show.

I took a TON of photos, not just of Afroman, but of the crowd too. If you were there, look through these! There’s a good chance you or someone you know ended up in front of my camera. Hopefully these photos find their way back to the people in them.

Thanks to everyone at Toad's BARn & Grill for inviting me out and making me feel welcome!

Also, a special thanks to Rose Hollow Cabins, LLC for the accommodations. I stayed at their Deer Run cabin while I was down there. If you’re planning a trip to the Red River Gorge, I’d definitely recommend checking them out.

LOOK AT DEXTER! 🐾📸

I’ve always loved photographing dogs, especially capturing their personalities and those little moments that make them who they are.

Over the years, my photography has been featured on Disney’s It’s a Dog’s Life, Access with Mario Lopez, The Drew Barrymore Show, The Washington Post, and numerous other national and international media outlets.

But some of my favorite photos are still the ones I take of my own dog, Dexter.
