🏐 DEFENDING THE CROWN 👑

State champions on one side.
A Top-10 contender on the other.
Something had to give.

The Grapevine Mustangs came into Highland Park ready for a fight.

Across the net stood the defending state champion Highland Park Lady Scots—a team that already knows what it takes when the pressure rises.

The opening whistle sounded.

SET ONE.
The battle began. Grapevine pushed. Highland Park answered.

Lady Scots. 1–0.

SET TWO.

The Mustangs came back looking to even the night. The rallies got longer. The intensity climbed.

But Highland Park wouldn’t give them an opening.

Lady Scots. 2–0.

Then came the third.

No fourth set.
No comeback.
No doubt.

Highland Park finished it.

🧹 CLEAN SWEEP. 3–0.

The Top-10 challenger came looking to test the champions.

The champions answered.

LADY SCOTS. STILL DEFENDING THE CROWN. 👑🏐 🏐

🔥 BATTLE AT SCOTLAND YARD 🎾

103 degrees. Two Top-10 contenders. One long night in Highland Park.

The Texas heat was unforgiving. With a heat advisory forcing the match to be pushed back, Highland Park and Colleyville Heritage waited for the sun to fall.

But the temperature wasn’t the only thing rising.

Under the lights at Scotland Yard, two of the state’s top programs finally went head-to-head.

Serve after serve.
Point after point.
Court after court.

What began in triple-digit heat turned into a battle that stretched deep into the night—nearly 10 P.M.

The sun disappeared.

The fight didn’t.

And on their home courts, the Scots defended their territory.

Highland Park stands victorious.

103 DEGREES. EAST TEXAS. FRIDAY NIGHT. 🥵🏈

The Argyle Eagles headed east to face the Terrell Tigers — and from the opening whistle, you knew this one wasn’t going to come easy.

Terrell struck first.

Then they struck again.

Two scores in the first quarter, and suddenly Argyle found themselves having to answer.

And answer they did.

The Eagles started flying. 🦅

One score became another. The sideline came alive. The crowd got louder. Players celebrated. Even the trainers were dancing on the ice trying to survive that East Texas heat. 😂🧊

Through 103-degree temperatures and brutal humidity, Argyle kept pushing.

Kept fighting.

Kept scoring.

What started as Terrell’s night slowly became ARGYLE’S NIGHT.

When the final whistle sounded, the Eagles had completed the comeback.

🔥 EAST TEXAS HEAT.
🐅 TIGERS STRUCK FIRST.
🦅 BUT THE EAGLES FLEW LAST.

ARGYLE WINS.

WHEN THE GAME LEFT THE GYM 🏐🔥

It was supposed to be a battle between two of Texas volleyball’s top contenders.

Allen Eagles vs. Highland Park Scots.

From the opening serve, both teams brought the intensity. Allen came out strong and captured the first set. Highland Park answered in the second, beginning to find its rhythm and build momentum.

Then suddenly, volleyball didn’t matter.

A fire incident inside the gym forced everyone to evacuate, bringing the match to an unexpected halt.

Players, coaches, families and fans poured outside.

But apparently, nobody told the Eagles or Scots that the fun had to stop. 😂

With the gym unavailable and everyone waiting outside, the street became the new court—and the cameras were still rolling.

Players from Allen and Highland Park started laughing, posing for photos, joking around and making the most of a completely unexpected situation.

For a moment, two opponents stopped being opponents.

No scoreboard.

No net.

No pressure.

Just athletes from two programs having some fun together while waiting to find out what came next.

Sometimes the best sports photographs aren’t made during the game at all.

Sometimes the story happens when the game stops.

UNDER THE LIGHTS OF JERRY’S WORLD 🏈

The lights came alive inside Jerry’s World as the Highland Park Scots and Lewisville Farmers stepped onto one of football’s biggest stages to open the season.

But before the first snap, there was a familiar face waiting at midfield.

Jerry Jones walked onto the field to welcome the teams and take part in the opening coin toss, greeting players and coaches as the stadium prepared for kickoff.

Then came the sound.

The Highland Park band filled the sidelines. The Belles, cheerleaders, and spirit groups brought the energy. From the field to the stands, everything began building toward that first whistle.

And when the football finally started, neither team wanted to give an inch.

For three quarters, it felt like a heavyweight fight.

Highland Park strikes. Lewisville answers.

A touchdown at one end.

Another coming back the other direction.

Big plays. Celebrations. Momentum swinging from one sideline to the other as two programs battled underneath the massive lights and screens of AT&T Stadium.

Then the story began to change.

Lewisville started finding openings. The Farmers began creating separation, slowly taking control as Highland Park continued fighting to answer.

But opening night was about more than a scoreboard.

It was about walking through that tunnel.

Hearing the band.

Seeing the Belles and cheerleaders along the sidelines.

Watching two communities fill an NFL stadium.

And experiencing high school football on one of the biggest stages in Texas.

One stadium. Two programs. Friday night under the lights of Jerry’s World.

And just like that, a new football season had begun.

A NEW ERA IN ARGYLE. 🦅🏈

Friday night wasn’t just another football game. It was the beginning of a new chapter.

Argyle officially opened its new football stadium as the Eagles took on Oak Ridge out of California. From the moment fans arrived dressed in red, the atmosphere felt different.

Tailgates surrounded the stadium. The marching band made its entrance. Cheer and drill brought the energy. The stands filled as the Argyle community experienced its new home for the first time.

And while celebrating the future, Argyle also honored its past.

Members of the 2003 Argyle Eagles football team returned to the field for recognition, connecting an earlier generation of Eagles football with the program beginning a new era inside its new stadium.

Under the evening sky, the bands performed, the crowd came alive, the scoreboard and broadcast production brought the experience together, and Argyle and Oak Ridge went head-to-head on the field.

The final score didn’t go Argyle’s way.

But some nights are bigger than the scoreboard.

New stadium. Old traditions. Generations reunited. A new era of Argyle Eagles football has begun.

A lot of people know me through my photography, but probably don’t know the entire story behind it.

VoyageDallas recently gave me an opportunity to talk about nearly 20 years behind the camera and the opportunities I’ve had, the people who mentored me, some of the losses and setbacks I’ve experienced, and why I never walked away from photography.

Looking back at everything for this interview made me realize how much the journey itself shaped the photographer and person I am today.

If you’ve known me for a long time, or even if you’ve only recently started following my work, I’d love for you to read it. I’m curious what you think after hearing the whole story.

🏐 SWINGING INTO THE SEASON 🦅🔥

The lights were bright. The stands were PACKED. And volleyball was officially back in Argyle.

Frisco Centennial vs. Argyle.

For the Eagles’ first home match of the season, fans from both sides filled the gym and brought the energy. Cheers echoed from the stands while both benches erupted after every big swing, block and point.

Argyle came out firing and took the first set.

But Centennial wasn’t going away quietly.

They answered back and captured the second, tying things up and turning the night into a battle.

Then the Eagles turned it up. 🦅

Communication. Laughter. Emotion. Teammates pushing teammates. And when it was time to attack—Argyle kept swinging.

The Eagles took the third set and came back again in the fourth to FINISH IT.

🔥 FINAL: ARGYLE 3 — CENTENNIAL 1 🔥

Four sets.
Two teams.
One electric crowd.

And one big win to open the home season.

ARGYLE VOLLEYBALL IS BACK. 🏐🦅 🏐
