And now that we are starting to talk about fall (I know, I know), let's remember that the busy season also starts to slow down a little in Michigan during the fall. Which means that business owners have more time to spend reinvesting in their business.

I know it sounds a little wild to talk about fall in June, but this is actually when I start my fall session waitlist. Every year, the best dates disappear first, especially weekends. Planning ahead means you have more flexibility and one less thing to think about when life gets busy later.

I see it all the time: websites and social profiles full of images that feel generic and cold and like they could belong to absolutely anyone.

That's not your fault. It's what happens when you don't have brand photos that actually tell your story. Your ideal client needs to feel like they already know you before they ever send a message. You’re home does not need to be “ready” for us to shoot brand photos. We can shoot brand photos anywhere as long as it fits your brand vibe.

We can shoot at a Studio. We can shoot at an Airbnb. We can shoot at your office. We can shoot at a coworker space. Your home office can be a great option! But it isn’t our only option!

There are so many places that we can shoot your brand photos that are not your home! Your brand photographer just needs to know where to look! And luckily this brand photographer has an entire list of awesome places that we can shoot at!

It's been a while since I simply shared some snapshots from everyday life. Summer is a pretty magical time in Michigan (outside of the heat waves). Cole and I have been traveling here and there, working on house projects, and enjoying time with friends and family.

Let this be your reminder, entrepreneurs! It's okay to step away from your business for a bit to enjoy summer. Michigan summers come and go so fast that sometimes it's hard to really slow down and enjoy it. You can run a business. But you can also stop to enjoy the sunset from your front porch. You can pause to catch up with old friends. You can pause to take a day trip to somewhere you haven't been in years. Enjoy your summer!

A lot of times when I am out and about networking for Fortis and I tell people that I am a brand photographer they will ask me what I mean.

Brand photography is more than just your headshot. It’s about capturing the story of your business and the stories/experiences you provide for your business.

Brand photography is about capturing the intimate details of your business that most people overlook. Brand photography is about telling your story through the little details and the big moments that make your business part of your local community.
