El Capitan in Yosemite at night with a few climbing campers. The rising moon illuminating the top of the rock face, along with the campers' lanterns created such a surreal atmosphere.

Throughout the years, I've been practicing photography, I've found the images captured are primarily landscape. This trip I've been mentally aware and am trying to capture more portrait images. Portrait images, with the right composition, can be extremely powerful. You don't often see images printed portrait, but when done right, it can make all the difference.

It’s been rainy and overcast for the past three days. We’ve explored much of Yosemite Valley, including the Ansel Adams Gallery. Back in my 20s, I bought the “Oak Tree Snowstorm” poster and framed it with one of those cheap clip-together frames—just like that, I had my first piece of Ansel Adams. Fast forward about 40 years to yesterday, and I purchased my very own original “Oak Tree Snowstorm.” This print was made by his longtime assistant, Adam Ross, from the original negative. The wave of emotion that hit me is hard to describe. If you’re not familiar with the image, you should check it out. In the meantime, here are a couple of my Bridalveil and El Capitan shots from Yosemite!

In a world filled with congestion and chaos, we discovered a serene oasis! Yesterday's rainy, foggy weather in Yosemite was a blessing in disguise, giving us the gift of solitude and a sense of having the park all to ourselves!

Bridalvale Falls in Yosemite National Park. had another bear sighting and a captured quite a few more moody images from the park! More to come on those images, but in the meantime, I really thought you would fall in love with this image, just like I have.

Rim of the World at sunset and Rainbow pool - aka the spot where I almost convinced myself to take a polar bear plunge but ended up just dipping my toes (and Marley's paws) instead.
Stay tuned for the video of the crazy couple who actually took the leap of faith into the icy waters!

Honestly, I'm at a loss for words. I absolutely love bringing you these types of images, but sometimes it's better for the pictures to do all the talking for me.

We’ve been hiking all over since arriving in California, and the state has some of the most unique trails I’ve ever experienced. From tunnels leading to hidden ocean coves to the old PCH Route 1 that runs along the outside of a vehicle tunnel and hugs the coastline with incredible views, each hike has been unforgettable. I’ve also spotted wildlife I’d never seen in the wild before, including the peregrine falcon in the photos—definitely a lifer for me and one of the most stunning birds of prey, in my opinion. The sunset shots are from our last night at Manhattan Beach, where an overcast sky set the mood.

It's been a bit challenging and at the same time liberating with such limited access to the world wide web. I do read each and every comment. If I don't respond back, you'll know why.
