Gooooood morning! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

History of Shrimp Boats
Shrimp boats, or sh*****ng vessels, have a long and evolving history tied to the coastal and estuarine fisheries of the southeastern United States, especially Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico.

Origins in the Late 18th Century
The earliest shrimp boats were sail-powered luggers used in Louisiana’s estuaries for local markets. These small, flat-bottomed, shallow-draft vessels had open holds and were crewed by 8–20 men, limited to inshore waters without refrigeration

These are not calendar worthy, but I thought I would try something a little different. I find myself doing some of the same things when I am down on the beach. These are all long exposures. Let me know your thoughts on the images. I'm a bit torn....kinda cool, but yet kinda of not...haha

Yosemite National Park
At first glance, Yosemite’s natural wonders are easy to observe. Sights around the park are iconic in the human experience of national parks. Beyond the rocks, plants, and animals, is a story about people in Yosemite written on that very same landscape. It tells a story of different cultures (sometimes working together, sometimes in violent clashes) creating the place we call Yosemite National Park and defining how we experience it. Yosemite’s rich human history tells a story of conflict, dreams, diversity, hardships, adventures, and preservation of one of the first national parks.

As the sun sets on Topsail, I'm reminded of life's potential and the power of living in the present. The salty air invigorated me, and I felt grateful for this slice of paradise, while capturing these images of bliss.

It was an absolutely breathtaking morning in Surf City, NC, where the sky was painted with hues of pink, orange, and purple. The sunrise showed us a variety of different looks, each one more stunning than the last, with the clouds reflecting the colors of the sky. It was as if the sun was putting on a show, changing its appearance every few minutes, and each new look was as amazing as the last. Take a look for yourself and see if you can pick a favorite... Wouldn't you agree that it's moments like these that make you grateful to be alive?

Last night I took a quick trip to the north end for a breathtaking sunset, where the sky turned into a kaleidoscope of warm colors. Checked out one of the turtle nests, hoping it was going to boil while we were there, but unfortunately, no luck. We were really looking forward to witnessing the miracle of new life emerging from the sand, but it seems like we'll have to come back another day. The peaceful atmosphere and sound of the waves crashing against the shore made up for it though, and we still had an amazing time.
