Id say I was about a week to two weeks too early in the Smokies; but I still saw 10 TEN black bears in one day while in Cades Cove!! 🐻 I had fun trying to capture them and enjoying the several scenic drives in the area.

I am slowly, finally catching up to all the images I've made in the last month.

Here are some water shots from the two days I spent photographing and camping in the Smoky Mountains of TN & NC. 💦 I was absolutely blown away by this park and I will definitely return. This is high on my list for a photo tour with in the future!!

☀️South Beach Summer ☀️

The Miami Beach Lifeguard stations, designed by William Lane in the 90s were instantly iconic and now one of the most "instagrammable" spots along Ocean Drive. There are 36 in all; here are four of them! I can't wait to print this up as a series of metals for my Florida appearances.

🌊 Blue Hour in Bahia Hondia 🌊

The Bahia Honda railroad bridge was originally built by Henry Flagler as part of the FEC's Overseas Railroad. Opened in 1912, Flagler funded the railway construction using his own personal funds. The Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 destroyed much of the line, and the project was ended. Florida purchased it for highway use, but the lanes were too narrow, and a new bridge was built. Sections were removed to prevent traffic and pedestrians from accessing unsafe parts and to allow for boat traffic, and is now part of the landscape of the Florida Keys.

🏖️ Day on Sombrero Reef 🐠

This is the shot I'm most excited about from the last couple of weeks. On my last morning and I went for a snorkel trip out to the reef just beside the Sombrero Key Light. With my in hand - I spent the entire time trying to make this shot.

As a landscape photographer, i can't tell you how difficult it is to work IN the water like this. Light works very differently under the waves; you can't make both above and under the surface sharp at the same time. Battling the rough waves and trying to stay afloat and breathe; and not to mention being able to manipulate controls, and not being able to look close up at your screen! I am having fun with this though, and getting better each time. 🐡🐠🐟

I can't wait to print this big! 📷
