If you have been following me for a while you know how much I love the lifeguard towers on Miami Beach. I made "shooting them all" my photography project for 2017 and am still shooting them.

So when I saw a post that Miami Beach re-painted one of the towers to celebrate the United States 250th birthday, I had to go and see it for myself. I went there last week, but it was fenced off. So I went back yesterday and here it is... ❤️ 🇺🇸

Driving to the Deering Estate and then waiting at the gate I am always wondering what we'll get. What the morning and sunrise will be like. You never know until you get to the Keyhole Boat Basin, set up and take your first shot.

Yesterday was no different. The sky overhead looked clear while we were waiting until we got to the water and you could make out the faintest streaks of clouds. The water was relatively calm and the palm trees reflecting in the water. Dawn was already breaking despite sunrise still begin almost an hour away.

While not as colorful as last week, sunrise this morning did not disappoint. The clouds over the pier were amazing and so was the water.

I don't recall ever haven seen a sand bank at the pier the waves were washing over creating ripples in the sand and these little waves. The scene reminded me of a morning at the Outer Banks a few years ago, which I need to revisit one day. 🌊

Last Saturday's sunrise was so amazing, I had to share one more shot from that shoot. Enjoy! 😊

After "running a little late" on Saturday, the sky was just so awesome I had to stop along the way for some shots along the shoreline, I went back Sunday with the intention of making it to the inlet for the blue hour and then sunrise.

Unfortunately, the sky was almost clear that day, a bit of a letdown after Saturday, but it was still beautiful. I sure had a lot of fun climbing around those rocks.

I was walking as fast as I could to make it to the inlet in time, but had to stop every few steps to take a shot along the way. I still made it in time to capture some shots as the morning sky was transitioning from the blue to the golden hour. What an amazing morning.

Mother Nature has been on a roll this week. The early morning skies have been incredible and I am so glad I made it to the beach yesterday morning. The sky was already ablaze when I arrived at the beach access and I really had to hurry along the beach to make it to the inlet.
