THANKS TO ALL OF YOU ! We Did it, not only did this nearly 50 year old TRANSPAC photo win the Peoples Vote Award, it also won the GOLD (first in class to you sailors) AWARD, in the EVENT category. Since this was an international Black & White (not sailing) photo competition, with entries from 82 countries and and international jury, it is a great indicator of the interest and perception of the beauty of our sport by the general public.

In 2005 The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, held a three month exhibition of Bill Koch’s fine art collection. In addition, the exhibition featured a large screen video that ran non stop, featuring A3 programs that I had created in San Diego, as well as the 1992 America’s Cup Race competitors displayed on the front lawn. Congratulations to Peter (Pedro) Isler, who was recently named, along with Glenn Ashby, the Beken Dynasty, and Lowell North, as this years class of inductees to the America’s Cup Hall of Fame. This photo of Peter, hard at work as navigator with Dennis Conner and crew, onboard US 55 in Fremantle in 1987, has always been one of my favorite shots from the 87 America's Cup.

Great to see that SEAHORSE liked my shot of Stars & Stripes -one second after loosing their jib, enough to use it as the opening spread in the 'February issue. It was captured during training in Hawaii in 1986, with Jack Sutphen on the helm in heavy air off Koko Head.
