World Art Day exists because someone decided that art, as a living practice, deserved a day of recognition.

"Old Poggioreale, Sicily Ruins in 1999" is part of that practice.

For an independent artist, it's a moment to reflect on what it all means and say thank you.

That's why I'm offering 25% off with code ARTDAY26.

World Art Day is a moment to acknowledge that making and collecting art is not a luxury reserved for institutions. It belongs to everyone.

A question worth sitting with today: what is the first work of art you remember truly stopping in front of? Not the most famous. Not the most expensive. The one that made you feel something before you had the language to explain it.

I'd genuinely like to know. Share it below.

"2008 Kemah, Texas Boardwalk" is part of a collection of work made for moments like that one.

Happy World Art Day.

Art isn't decoration. It's a record of what we noticed, what moved us, what we wanted to hold onto. "Old World window in Old Town Poggioreale" is part of that conversation.

In honor of today, I'm offering 25% off in my shop through Saturday. Code: ARTDAY26.

Most people change their wardrobes with the season. Very few think to do the same with their walls.

Spring is actually one of the best moments to reassess what you are living with, not to redecorate constantly, but to ask whether the work on your walls still reflects who you are right now. Art is not furniture. It should evolve with you.

If you have been waiting for a reason to make a change, here's your permission slip.

"Overlook in Old Town Poggioreale, Sicily in 2019" is part of a growing collection.

One of the most common mistakes in placing art is going too small. A single work hung at the center of a large wall often feels lost, and the temptation is to add more.

But... adding more is rarely the answer.

Before buying, measure the wall space you are working with and aim for a work that occupies between two-thirds and three-quarters of the width. The right scale makes everything in the room feel more deliberate and helps the artwork shine.

"Melon Sea Shell" is sometimes available in varied size options. Worth considering before you decide.

Spring is the season when people actually follow through on the room changes they have been thinking about all winter. If you have been considering adding "1980-UP s Jimmie Walkers-Ruth Burke Art" to your space but want something more durable and substantial than paper, canvas is worth looking at seriously.

Canvas prints carry a depth and presence that holds up over time. They do not require glass, they travel well from wall to wall, and they look right at home, whether a space is minimal or full. A considered choice for a season of renewal.

A lot of people assume collecting art requires a particular budget.

What it really takes is starting small (one work, chosen carefully), which is more meaningful than filling walls quickly.

The collectors who build something worth having usually begin the same way: one decision at a time.

"1978 Moonrise over the Seabrook Waterfront" is featured today. Check out the display and pricing options I have available.

The Draw Bridge with the fixed span bridge when it opened in 1986 between Kemah and Seabrook. The draw bridge was dismantled shortly after I took this photo and it was re assembled in Louisiana. This is a new piece that is for sale at Robinette Caterers in Seabrook. It is printed on a tight weave archival canvas and ready to hang with the reclaimed bead board. This is a one of a kind piece and measures 28”wide x 22” high for $145.

Trends cycle. But original work by an independent artist carries something that mass production never can.

That specificity is part of what makes collecting meaningful. You are not buying decoration. You are acquiring a point of view.
"Blooming Lilly I" is one example of work made with that kind of intention.
