A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

Summer evenings are longer than any other time of year. There is genuinely stretched, unhurried time to do something that is not productive, not scheduled, not on a screen.

While in Hawaii, I made friends with the locals on my balcony. These pigeons would swarm the balconies looking for handouts and dI was happy to oblige in exchange for a few photos here and there. I would leave out some macadamia nuts during the day and when I got back, they were always on the railing waiting for more; this was the perfect opportunity to snap this photo. As I got closer, they got nervous and flew away, but just to the balcony next door, waiting to hear some more nuts drop.
