David JD Lowrie Photography My photography is an attempt to capture the fleeting moments that define us. from heart opening mome Creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

I am a worldwide photographer, fine art printer & creator based in Washington State. To me, photography is a beautiful and expansive expression of art from the eyes, soul, experiences, and opening of another. The moment that shutter clicks is the peak of a unique life lived capturing a piece of art with the eye. The experiences that trained my eye will forever mold how I express myself through thi

s art form and is the glue that holds the art together. My photography is an attempt to capture the fleeting moments that truly resonate with the heart, mind, body, and soul.

World Art Day exists because someone decided that art, as a living practice, deserved a day of recognition.

""The Cabin" - Waves of Our Youth" is part of that practice.

For an independent artist, it's a moment to reflect on what it all means and say thank you.

That's why I'm offering 25% off with code ARTDAY26.

World Art Day is a moment to acknowledge that making and collecting art is not a luxury reserved for institutions. It belongs to everyone.

A question worth sitting with today: what is the first work of art you remember truly stopping in front of? Not the most famous. Not the most expensive. The one that made you feel something before you had the language to explain it.

I'd genuinely like to know. Share it below.

""Winter Wonderland" - Natural Yule" is part of a collection of work made for moments like that one.

Happy World Art Day.

Art isn't decoration. It's a record of what we noticed, what moved us, what we wanted to hold onto. ""A Forest Ablaze" - Ocean of Bliss" is part of that conversation.

In honor of today, I'm offering 25% off in my shop through Saturday. Code: ARTDAY26.

Most people change their wardrobes with the season. Very few think to do the same with their walls.

Spring is actually one of the best moments to reassess what you are living with, not to redecorate constantly, but to ask whether the work on your walls still reflects who you are right now. Art is not furniture. It should evolve with you.

If you have been waiting for a reason to make a change, here's your permission slip.

"End Gun Violence" is part of a growing collection.

"Frame by Frame" // https://www.djdlowrie.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/frame-by-frame-tiff

I captured this image on a recent trip to New York. What really drew me in were the pillars that seemed to separate each person's individual experience into a slide on an old-timey film reel of days past. As I take it in, I am reminded to take life frame by frame. To live in each and every moment as this is my feature film and I am the main character.

One of the most common mistakes in placing art is going too small. A single work hung at the center of a large wall often feels lost, and the temptation is to add more.

But... adding more is rarely the answer.

Before buying, measure the wall space you are working with and aim for a work that occupies between two-thirds and three-quarters of the width. The right scale makes everything in the room feel more deliberate and helps the artwork shine.

""A Forest Ablaze" - Flowers on Fire" is sometimes available in varied size options. Worth considering before you decide.

A lot of people assume collecting art requires a particular budget.

What it really takes is starting small (one work, chosen carefully), which is more meaningful than filling walls quickly.

The collectors who build something worth having usually begin the same way: one decision at a time.

"My Heart's Reflection" is featured today. Check out the display and pricing options I have available.

Trends cycle. But original work by an independent artist carries something that mass production never can.

That specificity is part of what makes collecting meaningful. You are not buying decoration. You are acquiring a point of view.
""Colors of Spring" - Crimson Beauty" is one example of work made with that kind of intention.

Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up. It’s a great way to reduce mental clutter and find focus again.

Don’t forget the walls as you refresh for the season ahead — art can change the energy of a space instantly.

Today’s artwork: “"A Forest Ablaze" - Barren Heart.”
