Emily5 Photography Photography for every enjoyable moment I am a natural light photographer, meaning I don't use flash as much as possible.

I like capturing the natural look of people and pets from the sun. I will usually try to find a park or at least somewhere with shade to have our photo session. I have my own style for the types of photos I take, but I am open to capturing you in a way you want to make your session special and personalized :)

Little man M is 6 months old!

He was such a happy baby and kept us all smiling the whole time. This shoot was super quick because he was so photogenic (and it was HOT outside!)

It’s so fun seeing the development of growth of a family! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing maternity and newborn milestones for this family. See you at 1 year 😉

Another senior photoshoot that I *forgot* to post. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I started a new full time job around the time I took these photos, and by the time I edited, uploaded and then picked my favorites to post, life got in the way.

Congrats to this guy for graduating, he’s headed to Texas A&M and his parents are so proud! It’s hard to get guys/boys/men to smile and enjoy a photoshoot, but this kid literally said “if your mom wants it, you do it for her” 🥰 that’s a quote from a sweet young man that has been raised to treat women well!

Not 1, but 2 boys are graduating and headed to college! I enjoyed the morning photographing these boys and hearing about their college plans. Both headed to big Texas schools with big dreams of their future.

It’s not often that I meet such nice young men! These guys were so sweet and definitely love and respect their mom and have a great outlook on life. Can you see mom in the background of any of these pictures? No? Secret is, she’s perfectly hidden behind them in a few 😉

Meet the Milroy family!

They are great friends with my former neighbor and we met in our driveway and at parties at the neighbor’s house. I’ve the pleasure of photographing their engagement, maternity and now their growing family!

Fun fact! Their oldest daughter was born the same day as my daughter! Our due dates were 4 weeks apart, she was late, I was early and both our little girls arrived the same day! Our little birthday buds have hung out a few times, and wish we lived closer to enjoy more play dates.

It’s blue bonnet season!

I was actually wondering when the wildflowers would come out or if at all after our winter freeze. I found this large patch along the trail near my house while I was on a run one day last week and was SO excited to come back with my camera and an adorable subject.

This cutie belongs to me! She loved frolicking in the flower and sitting down for a quick picture. It was hard to pull her away from this field and she kept asking for “flowers” the rest of the weekend ☺️

I will never say photographing kids is easy. Especially when we go to a park with ducks, open space and a playground calling their name.

I like to credit my teacher background for getting kids to look at me, smile and laugh. Photo sessions are my cardio. I chase kids to make them laugh, jump up and down to make them look, and move quick to catch a kid so their parents can stay in position.

This is the Wollard family. I met them through a mutual friend years ago. Since then we’ve become close friends, and Erin is one of my go to moms to text when I need motherhood advice. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing each pregnancy, newborn, 6 month and 1 year photos for each of these kids! It’s been amazing to watch this family grow, and at the same time watch my photography skills grow.

Can you tell it was 40 degrees outside?
If you could see behind the scenes you’d see a photographer in a winter coat and hat, and a dad to be carrying a blanket (for warmth, not to sit on). We all may be from Michigan, but my tolerance for cold has dwindled. The day was cold and windy, but this mama rocked it!

When Rachel and I met, we had an initial connection because we were both from Michigan. She later met her husband and he was also from Michigan! Eric and my husband both played basketball and Michigan, just missed each other by 2 years. The four of us have become great friends over the years bonding over our common past and common interests. Now we’re all parents and I can’t wait for the play dates!

We watched the weather closely alllll week leading up to this session. This day there were pockets of rain and we decided to go did it! Look 👏🏻 at 👏🏻 those 👏🏻 clouds!

If you’ve had a session with me, you know I love clouds and shade from trees. So, to get clouds that looked like this was a win win! It was a little chilly and windy, but the rain held off until we walked back to our cars.

Meet baby M!

This little man is the son of my friend Laura. Her and I met while teaching in Sugar Land. I remember interviewing her at a job fair and she was amazing! She had a portfolio with photos of things she did at her previous school, she was cute and spunky and was exactly what we were looking for. Minutes after she left our booth, we all looked at each other and had a unanimous “yes” and we then sent someone to chase after her before someone else scooped her up.

I love calling her my friend and have had the pleasure to attend her wedding and now take photos of her growing family.

I’m excited to watch this dude grow up and have a silly personality like his daddy 😜

Meet the Johnson’s!

The day we took these photos it was sooo chilly, windy and full of sun!

Colleen and I met through her twin sister 6 years ago and I’m honored to call her one of my best friends now. We’ve grown close over the last 6 years through our monthly book club meetings, random happy hour meet ups, text message vent sessions and celebrations.

Fun fact! Baby J was due on my daughter’s birthday...and he was born on my due!
