Objects on an Instagram feed are closer than it appears. I found my smile staring out of a window of a coffee shop in Tulsa, Ok. As light wraps this room, the light of those with me on this journey wraps my heart. Choose your focus. Gratitude will always improve your altitude.

My kids don’t ask to borrow my cameras anymore.

They ask which camera they get to bring.

That means more to me than any new lens or camera release.

I don’t know if they’ll become photographers.

But I hope they’ll always notice light.

I hope they’ll always stop long enough to see something worth remembering.

That’s what photography gave me.

Self studio portraits.

Editorial and lifestyle portraits have always had my heart. It’s the kind of work that makes me slow down, experiment, and remember why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

I don’t get asked to create these images very often, so I’ve decided to stop waiting for opportunities and start making them for myself.
