Payton showed up with ice cold beers for the groomsmen and made them turn around for the reveal ❤️‍🔥

Their reactions were exactly what you’d want. Genuinely one of our favorite moments from getting ready.

Colorado engagement sessions hit different when there’s a mountain involved.

Yunseo & Wesley took their engagement photos in the Colorado mountains, and the backdrop did most of the work. Just the two of them, some elevation, and good light.

June brings wildflowers and long daylight hours. September gives you golden aspens starting to turn with fewer crowds. February means off-season pricing and cozy, dramatic winter light. October is peak fall color in the mountains with crisp air and epic backdrops.

If you’re set on July, just plan around the midday sun. High altitude means it gets intense fast.

Save this if you’re still deciding on a date 📌

The best weddings don’t feel like events. They feel like experiences.

An event runs on a schedule. Ceremony at 4, dinner at 6, toasts at 7:30, everyone watching the clock including you. An experience runs on feeling. You lose track of time because you’re actually in it, talking to people, dancing badly, crying without realizing it.

The difference isn’t the budget. We’ve photographed $15k weddings that felt like a checklist, and backyard elopements that felt like magic. It’s not about the money. It’s about how present you let yourself be.

The couples who stay in the moment instead of managing it are the ones who actually remember their day years later.

We photograph the experience, not just the event.

Planning a mountain engagement session? What you wear plays a bigger role in your photos than you might think.

Here are a few outfit tips to help your engagement photos feel timeless:

✨ Choose colors that complement the landscape.
Creams, camel, navy, burgundy, chocolate brown, dusty blue, and other muted tones photograph beautifully without distracting from the scenery.

✨ Coordinate, don’t match.
Choose colors that work well together instead of wearing identical outfits. It creates a more natural, elevated look.

✨ Keep it simple.
Solid colors and subtle textures tend to photograph best. Skip large logos, neon colors, and busy patterns that can pull attention away from the two of you.

✨ Dress for the location.
Mountain weather can change quickly, so layers like jackets, knit sweaters, or long dresses are both practical and photogenic.

✨ Wear comfortable shoes.
Some of the best photo locations require a short walk or uneven terrain. Choose footwear you can move confidently in, and bring a second pair if needed.

The best outfit is one that feels like you while letting your connection, and the landscape shine.

Okay, we need to know: team first look or team seeing each other for the first time at the aisle?

Maria and James went with a first look, and honestly, watching James’ reaction when he turned around and saw her? Worth every second of planning around it.

But we get it if you’re team aisle. That build up, walking down with everyone watching, the anticipation of that exact moment. Also incredible.

There’s no wrong answer here, just what feels right for you two.

Emily & Donnie’s wedding portraits by the pond, before and after we hit the shutter 🤍

There’s the walking around, the talking, the actual moment happening between two people. And then there’s the photo that comes out of it. We love showing both sides of how a wedding photo actually comes together.

Yamile & Devin’s engagement session in the Colorado mountains 🏔

We got so lucky with the light on this one. Clear views of the mountains, easy energy between these two, and a whole lot of “just walk toward me” moments that turned into some of our favorite shots.
