“I saw Jackie arrive and instantly the stressful feelings I was experiencing were greatly reduced.”

That line from Brooke’s review stopped us in our tracks, because it describes exactly what we hope every couple feels on their wedding morning.

Getting ready can be one of the most nerve-filled parts of the day. There’s a lot happening at once, the timeline is starting, and it’s easy to wonder whether everything is going to come together. For Brooke, the reassurance started long before that moment. We photographed her engagement session first, which gave us the chance to get comfortable together, and then we sat down before the wedding to talk through the moments that mattered most to her.

From there, Jackie built a detailed timeline from start to finish so everyone knew where to be and when. In Brooke’s words, “we just had to show up and Jackie and her team had it covered.”

That’s the part of wedding photography couples don’t always think about when they’re comparing photographers. Beautiful images matter, but so does having a team that keeps the day moving, helps you relax in front of the camera, and makes you laugh along the way, so you can actually be present for your own wedding.

Brooke, thank you for trusting us with both your engagement session and your wedding day, and for sharing such a kind review. 🤍

🚩One of the biggest wedding planning mistakes you can make? Hiring someone who LOOKS like a professional online but isn’t prepared to handle your actual wedding day.

It’s easier than ever to enter the wedding industry, create a beautiful social media presence, and start booking couples. But how do you know you’re hiring someone you can actually trust?

And more importantly, how do you protect yourself from getting taken advantage of? It’s happening far more often than you think right now!!

One of the first places to look is in their reviews. Are past couples talking about great communication, feeling supported, and having a vendor who followed through on their promises? Because beautiful work means very little if you’re left scrambling when something goes wrong.

In Episode 20 of We Love That For You, we’re breaking down 6 wedding vendor red flags every engaged couple should know before booking.

From poor communication and missing backup equipment to a lack of personalization and preparation, we’re sharing the questions that can help you avoid costly wedding planning mistakes.

We’re even discussing a couple who found themselves searching for a new photographer just FOUR MONTHS before their wedding.

The best receptions don’t happen around the couple. They happen with them.

Look closely at this dance floor and you’ll find the bride in the middle of her friends, the best man with his fist in the air, flower girls twirling each other around, and family members hugging like they haven’t seen each other in years. Nobody is watching from the sidelines, least of all the two people who planned the whole night.

That’s what we want for every couple we work with. You’ve spent months planning this celebration, and you deserve to be out there enjoying it, not checking the time or wondering if the energy is about to drop.

It starts long before the wedding, by getting to know you, your music, and the people you’re bringing together. Then on the night, our DJ and Event Host team reads the room, keeps the flow moving, and builds the kind of energy that pulls everyone in, so all you have to do is dance.

If you’re looking for a New Jersey wedding DJ who’ll keep you on the dance floor instead of behind the scenes, we’d love to hear about the celebration you’re planning.

Some love stories remind you that when you find the right person, everything just falls into place.

For Elizabeth and Matt, it started in the summer of 2020 when mutual friends introduced them. Despite busy schedules and living in different cities, they couldn't seem to get enough time together. And once Matt moved to Philadelphia, they were pretty much inseparable.

Their proposal was as thoughtful as their relationship. After a round of golf where Matt was secretly battling his nerves, he proposed during a beautiful sunset on the bay in Stone Harbor. And just when Elizabeth thought the surprises were over, 30 of their closest friends were waiting to celebrate with them over dinner.

So when it came time to plan their wedding, it was no surprise that they wanted a celebration centered around the people they love most.

From their ceremony at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Hamilton to their elegant black-and-white reception at The Merion in Cinnaminson, everything felt timeless, romantic, and completely true to who they are.

And that's exactly what we want for every Limelight couple.

When you're planning your wedding, it's easy to get caught up in timelines, details, and making sure everything goes according to plan. But what you'll remember most isn't whether every little thing happened perfectly. It's how you felt standing beside your person, surrounded by everyone who helped shape your story.

That's why we take the time to get to know our couples, understand what matters most to them, and thoughtfully plan their photography experience around those priorities. We'll guide you when you need direction, anticipate the moments you might not even notice happening, and work to keep everything moving so you can actually enjoy the day you've spent so long planning.

Because beautiful wedding photos matter. But feeling comfortable, confident, and fully present while those memories are being made matters just as much.

Elizabeth and Matt, thank you for trusting us to preserve such a meaningful chapter of your story. We couldn't be happier for you both, and we're so excited to share this little sneak peek from your incredible wedding day.

Your engagement album isn't only about remembering what you looked like during this season of life. It's about remembering who was there with you. For Brittany and Alex, that absolutely had to include their golden retriever, Rudy.

We had so much fun exploring Spring Lake, NJ with these three for their engagement session. It's one of our favorite Jersey Shore locations because you get so much variety in one experience. The lake, beautiful greenery, the wooden bridge, and then just a quick drive up the road takes us straight to the beach.

And yes, we LOVE when you bring your pets! They're part of your family and part of your story. Getting to create photographs and heirlooms that memorialize the people and pets you love most is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

When Brittany and Alex came back for their reveal, they couldn't wait to see their beach photos and, of course, all the photos with Rudy. One thing that was especially important to them was having the three of them together on the opening spread of their album. They already knew how special it would be to look back years from now and remember this exact chapter when their little family looked like this.

And the album they created is STUNNING. They upgraded to a 10x10 album with 40 pages, chose a gorgeous Stone distressed leather cover, personalized it with custom engraving, and finished everything with Deep Matte printed pages. The result feels LESS like a photo book and more like a piece of art they'll have in their home for decades.

That's what we want for you. Your engagement session shouldn't feel like an hour of simply taking pictures. It should feel like an experience together. Bring your dog. Choose a place you love. Run around on the beach. Laugh until posing doesn't even feel like posing anymore.

And afterward, let's turn those memories into something you can actually hold.

Because years from now, the photos that mean the most might not be the perfectly posed portrait. They might be the one of the three of you together, exactly as your family was in this moment.

Bring the dog. Make the memories. We'll help you preserve the rest.

There’s something about getting-ready photos that couples never seem to get enough of.

Maybe it’s because this is the part of the day that still feels like yours. The music playing in the background, your best friends crowded into one room, your mom helping with the last button, and that moment you finally see yourself fully dressed and realize it’s really happening.

It moves fast, and most of it happens while you’re thinking about a dozen other things. That’s exactly why these images end up meaning so much. They show you the laughter, the nerves, the people who were right beside you, and the anticipation building before everything else began.

With two photographers and a photo assistant at every Limelight wedding, we can tell the story from more than one point of view, so the moments happening on both sides of the morning are part of your gallery too.

If you’re building your wedding timeline, give yourself a little extra time to get ready. You’ll want to be present for it, and you’ll be so glad you have these photos to look back on.

Their first date was ice cream at Jeni’s, and they handled the nerves in completely opposite ways. Rebecca talked a lot, Josh stayed quiet, and afterward Josh called his mom to say how nice it was not to carry the conversation, while Rebecca told her friend this guy just didn’t talk.

A few days later, they went bowling. That date lasted 26 hours. The rest, as they say, is history.

Rebecca and Josh came up from Atlanta for their engagement session at Sayen Gardens, and they told us exactly what they wanted: a mix of classic portraits and real, candid moments of the two of them laughing and being themselves. Their relationship is built on humor, kindness, and taking care of each other through the stressful days, and we wanted their photos to feel just like that.

This is a season you only get once. You’re engaged for such a short time, and an engagement session is a chance to slow down, enjoy each other, and have something beautiful to show for it. For Rebecca and Josh, that means photos they’ll display in their home and in an album long after the wedding.

If you’re planning your engagement session, choose a place you love and don’t be afraid to be your silliest selves. That’s usually where the best photos come from.

Rebecca and Josh, we can’t wait to celebrate with you again at The Mill. Here’s a little sneak peek. 🤍
