The birth of Henry 🤍
One of the most beautiful hospital births I’ve ever witnessed. The amount of support that this mama had was incredible. She labored with her husband by her side the entire time.
Welcome to the world little one!

Myth: Insufficient milk supply is a common breastfeeding complication

Truth: Many mothers believe they have a low breastmilk supply, when in reality, the diagnosed inability to produce an adequate supply is rare. Newborns typically feed very frequently, lose weight in their first week and go through regular periods of irritability, cluster feeds and growth spurts as they grow older. Small breasts, frequent short breastfeeds, feeling ‘empty’, the inability to express much milk with a breast pump – these are not necessarily indications of a low milk supply!

Instead – a thorough ‘big-picture’ assessment is needed to determine if baby is not removing milk from the breast efficiently at necessary intervals to stimulate the milk supply that perfectly meets their needs.

Women who progress to be formally diagnosed with the inability to produce an adequate breastmilk supply often have a background of:

- Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- Difficulty conceiving/unexplained fertility issues
- Previous breast surgery (Breast reduction/augmentation)
- Breast hypoplasia/insufficient glandular tissue

Breast hypoplasia is classified as the underdevelopment of glandular (milk-producing) tissue of the breast. It is commonly characterised by:

- Widely spaced, tubular and asymmetrical breasts
- Limited breast tissue beneath the ar**la
- Little or no breast changes during pregnancy in addition to the inability to stimulate/maintain an adequate breastmilk supply after birth despite experienced lactation support and assessment
- No notable breast changes postpartum or signs of successful lactation
- Medical indication for formula supplementation in the first 14 days from birth

Whilst the majority of breastfeeding complications can be alleviated by improving baby’s latch, frequency of milk removal or oral/palate anomaly repair – Breast hypoplasia is recognised as a significant contributor to insufficient milk supply.

If you suspect your baby is not getting enough milk, you should seek lactation and medical advice.

Due Soon? It’s Not Too Late to Book!

If your due date is between March 13th and April 8th, I still have availability for birth photography! And yes, you can book last minute!

I know birth photography might not have been on your radar until now—maybe you weren’t sure if you wanted it, or you assumed it was too late. But here’s the thing… these moments? They only happen once. And if you’re feeling that little nudge, wondering if you’ll regret not having these memories documented, I want you to know: I’ve got you.

✨ I’m on call for you.
✨ I offer payment plans—even after birth if needed.
✨ I’ll capture the raw, powerful, sacred moments you’ll never want to forget.

If you’re feeling called to this, send me a message ASAP. Let’s make it happen. ❤️

Believe it or not, this session took plenty of bribing, snack breaks, bed-jumping, and grandma pulling out all the stops with silly faces behind me—but we made it happen!

Capturing photos with a toddler can be an adventure, but that’s exactly why in-home sessions are such a great option. No rushing out the door, no stressful car rides—just your little one in their own space, where they feel most comfortable (and where snack breaks are always within reach). The chaos is part of the magic, and the result? Memories that truly feel like you.

Side note, how freaking gorgeous is this family!?

This family's birth was so beautiful to witness

Lauren was surrounded by love the entire day—her midwives, doula, and both sides of their family were there, supporting her in the most effortless way. Her mom helped with their oldest, making sure she got to check in on her mama throughout the day. Her in-laws brought food and had it prepared for everyone to enjoy. Her husband and doula made sure she was eating, drinking, and cared for. She never had to ask for a thing—everyone just knew what she needed.
You can just see on everyone's face how proud they are of her. They KNEW that she had everything she needed to give birth. They KNEW that her body was doing what it should.

Because birth was never meant to be something feared or controlled. It’s not an emergency—it’s a rite of passage. A sacred, powerful experience where a woman becomes a version of herself that is stronger than ever before. And when she is surrounded by trust, support, and care, birth can unfold exactly as it was meant to.

When their baby arrived, there was no rush, no pressure. Just peace. She got to rest in her own home, eat, and soak it all in. The whole family got to be part of those first sweet moments—watching the baby get weighed, seeing Dad cut the cord, welcoming their newest little one into the family.

It was everything they wanted it to be.

Welcome sweet boy!
