If you’ve been around here for very long, you know that I’m passionate about wildlife and wilderness. I’m extremely grateful I live in a place where I can experience the beauty of our national parks on a regular basis, and I truly feel like I have the best job in the world—capturing weddings, wildlife, and wilderness in Grand Teton National Park! That’s why I’m so excited to share that I’m a Leave No Trace aware photographer.
Elopements and weddings in the national parks have increased in the past few years, and I have seen them increase even more with everything going on. Jackson saw a HUGE increase in tourists this year as well. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been the same increase in education for protecting these spaces and keeping them beautiful.
This could mean that national parks BAN weddings/elopements and restrict tourist access one day (this already happened in last year—they reduced their available wedding permits by 95%). If we don’t treat these places with care, we could lose access to them. So what can we do about it?
Learn and practice Leave No Trace!! A set of ethics and practices to reduce the impact on outdoor spaces. I’m so excited that I took the first ever Leave No Trace Course for Wedding and Elopement Photographers created by the and !
I never want a situation where the national parks have to put a stop to weddings or limit visitors, so I’m proud to do my part to care for these spaces! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

When Melissa and Brandon reached out to me, I immediately resonated with their story. Like me & my husband a few years ago, they live elsewhere, but deeply connect to this area of the country. I’m so grateful I got to be a part of such an incredible experience—they braved insanely cold weather to say their vows in a winter wonderland with stunning views. And y’all know I’m a sucker for a lab—their wedding party was made up of Brandon’s parents and Diesel and Dixie! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
