The short cut of Un Día Normal is an Official Selection of the 2026 Capital City Film Festival, closing out our 28-film festival run with a screening in Lansing, MI this April.

Though our film is set in 2017, its themes of family, resilience, and the need for a more humane immigration system remain as urgent as ever. Thank you to every cast and crew member, collaborator, festival staff, and audience who has been part of our journey sharing this story.

Closing one cycle with 2025, and starting a new one...

Our festival run for Un Día Normal continued and wrapped up in 2025, with 19 more screenings, 11 Film Festival participations, and 7 awards.

We were honored to share our story as far as the California desert, historic East Coast towns, the heart of Mexico City, and more.

It is reassuring that our work is connecting with audiences and informing that we need more than awareness — we need real change in how the U.S. treats immigrant families. The system is failing and harming too many people, and reform cannot wait.

Thank you to all of our friends, allies, fellow filmmakers, and festival organizers who were part of our journey this year.

After 18 months touring the film festival circuit, Un Día Normal is heading to streaming platforms. More details to come!

On Saturday 10/4, we had the honor of screening Un Día Normal for an Open House hosted by Jackson County for Immigrant Rights.

We had an impactful discussion about advocating for immigrant rights, organizing through peaceful resistance, and helping to provide immigrant communities the support and resources they need.

Thank you for hosting this great event and for all your continuing work!
Truly grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing these stories - in our current political climate, defending and standing with immigrants is more important than ever.

This week, we had the privilege of screening Un Día Normal at two Midwest universities, followed by powerful discussions on current issues impacting immigrant families and youth, and available resources for support.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing these stories—to inform more people about the human side of immigration, and the urgent need for a system that respects individuals' civil and human rights.

Throwback to this time last year!

A year ago today, Un Día Normal received the award for Best International Latin Film at the 2024 Urban Film Festival in Miami.

It was a great and unexpected honor to receive the award, and especially to share the moment with actor Ulises Otero (Uli Otero) in his hometown.

Oh, what a night! Had a wonderful experience screening and meeting fellow filmmakers last Saturday at the 2nd Newark Independent Film Festival.

I couldn't have asked for a better way to close out our summer film festival run!

Last Saturday, hosted a Movie Potluck Lunch in the heart of Southwest Detroit, screening the drama short , and the powerful, must-see documentary Citizen - The Jilmar Ramos-Gomez Story.

Thank you for continuing this important work and for highlighting the importance of organizing in community, and advocating for immigrant rights.

Even in the current bleak times, it's encouraging to find resilience and strength in our community, and to support one another in telling our stories and growing our networks.

The more they try to erase us, the more and the louder we have to speak out and make ourselves heard!
