This series was inspired by a photo I took last summer - tomatoes with hard light on this same blue tile backdrop, anchored in the lower right corner with a lot of negative space - simple, yet dramatic. There's just something about the combination of the blue, moody hard light, and red that keeps drawing me in. I'm loving how this series came together. P.S. Styling spaghetti is a lot of fun!

When my uncle sent us these Danish pecan sticky buns from O&H Danish Bakery for Christmas, I knew I had to tuck them in the freezer and save them for a shoot. Worth every bit of the wait!
I love chasing those specular highlights that bounce of the gooey pecans coated in caramel - the kind of shot that feels cozy and a little rustic at the same time. And as a Wisconsin girl now living in Iowa, there's something extra special about supporting a bakery rooted in the same state I grew up in. ❤️
P.S. They taste as good as they look!

40 years of shredding and he's still going strong!❄️ When your husband's birthday cake looks like this, the camera comes out immediately - the attention to details, the artistry made this such a joy to photograph.
