I’m not sharing this as just another course link.

I’m sharing it because I know what it feels like to want to grow, but not always know the cleanest path forward.

Sports motion graphics is one of those creative lanes where talent matters, but structure matters too. You can watch tutorials all day, but without the right roadmap, it’s easy to learn pieces without understanding how the whole thing works.

That’s why I enrolled in C.M. de la Vega’s Sports Motion Graphics Masterclass.

This course is designed to teach sports-specific motion design, animation, VFX, compositing, templates, MOGRTs, stadium graphics, mixed media, and broadcast-style workflows in After Effects. And it’s taught by someone actively working in the space at a high level.

For me, this is about more than learning software.
It’s about building skill.
It’s about expanding what I can offer.
It’s about creating with more confidence, more precision, and more purpose.

If that speaks to where you are creatively, take a look at the masterclass before enrollment closes.

Most designers waste months trying to piece together generic tutorials that never teach real broadcast techniques, ending up frustrated and still unable to create network-level work.

DJ KAOS — Louisville Legend

I captured this image of DJ KAOS during sound check at Wolf Creek Amphitheater.

KAOS is Slick Rick’s DJ, but he’s also a Louisville legend in his own right. And if you know anything about Louisville, you know we take pride in our people.

What I love about this image is the passion on his face. This wasn’t during the show. This wasn’t in front of a screaming crowd. This was sound check. But even then, he was locked in.

That says a lot.

There’s something special about being able to capture artists in those moments before the lights come up. Before the crowd really sees them. Before the performance officially begins. You get to see the focus, the love, the preparation, and the respect they have for what they do.

That’s what I see in this image.

A DJ.
A craftsman.
A Louisville legend still giving the music everything he has.

I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to be in rooms and spaces with people who helped shape the culture.

There are some people who don’t just perform music… they minister through it. Israel Houghton is one of those people.

I captured this moment at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre during the Festival of Praise tour, and what struck me most was the posture. Arms raised. Guitar resting quietly. Light cutting through the darkness. It felt less like a concert and more like surrender.

That’s one of the beautiful things about photography. Sometimes you don’t just capture a person—you capture a spirit, a moment, an atmosphere that words struggle to explain.

I’ve been blessed to stand in rooms with some extraordinary artists over the years, but moments like this remind me why I picked up a camera in the first place.

Not just to document what people looked like… but to preserve what they felt like. ✨

She’s not just graduating… she’s stepping into the next version of herself. ✨🎓

Calista Perkins, graduating from Clark Atlanta University, brought grace, confidence, and quiet strength into our studio. Dressed in a beautiful white blazer dress beneath her cap and gown, she didn’t just pose for this portrait—she owned this moment.

Her smile says what words sometimes can’t:
“I made it.”

That’s what I love most about portraiture. I’m not just capturing what people look like… I’m capturing what they feel like. The pride. The growth. The becoming.

Congratulations, Calista. Thank you for trusting me with your story. ✨

Most people see a wheelchair. I see a camera car. 🎥🛞

I’ve been turning my new TiLite chair into a rolling cinema rig—Sony FX6, Atomos monitor, iFootage mount—the whole setup riding with me wherever I go. I’m still dialing it in (there’s a bit of shake when I’m rolling hands-free), but I’m working on a three-point mount that should lock this thing in like a mini dolly on wheels.

What excites me most isn’t just the gear, it’s the idea: filmmaking that moves with me, not around me. Adaptive rigs like this could open up new angles, new ways to move through a scene, and new ways for creators with disabilities to work on their own terms.

If you’re a brand that believes in that kind of innovation—Sony, Atomos, iFootage, TiLite, or anyone building tools for filmmakers—I’d love to connect. And for everyone else: if you could turn one everyday object into a piece of film gear, what would you build?

The view from behind the legends.

This image is Teddy Riley and Blackstreet, taken from the stage behind them, looking out at a crowd that already knows every word. Everyone in the audience sees the front—the lights, the choreography, the performance. My job is to sit in the places most people never get to see and tell the story from there.

Teddy has consistently given me full access to his space—his rehearsals, his home, his stages. That kind of trust is rare. It means I can move with him, feel the music with him, and catch moments like this: all white fits, arms raised, shadows stretching across the stage like the history of their catalog.

I’m thankful every time he welcomes me into that world and lets me document what it feels like to sit in the light and carry a legacy on your shoulders.

This is Amicah. She was 17 when we created this portrait together.

What you’re looking at isn’t just a great hair and makeup day—it’s a collaboration. Her mother did her makeup and styling, and the two of them walked into the studio with a vision: bold color, big energy, and room for Amicah to just be herself.

Once the lights came on, she settled in like she had lived in front of a camera her whole life. Hands in her curls, eyes lifted, she gave me that look that says, “I know who I am, and I’m not shrinking for anyone.”

My studio is a place where people can explore that side of themselves safely—where they can see their creativity, their beauty, and their strength reflected back with honesty and respect. Amicah embraced that fully, and together we created an image that feels powerful, vibrant, and beautifully her.

Thank you, Amicah, for trusting me and helping to make something this personally powerful.
