Rain gets a bad reputation on wedding days.

A bride once told me rain on her wedding day was the absolute last thing she wanted—until it happened. Now, every time it rains, she's instantly transported back to that day. The smell in the air. The sound of the raindrops—what she feared most became one of her favorite memories.

That thought kept coming back to me during Faith and Logan's wedding.

The rain never once felt like a setback. It became part of their story. It softened the light, deepened the colors and created the dreamiest atmosphere we could have asked for.

Years from now, when the rain falls, I hope it takes Faith and Logan right back here. To this day. To these vows. To this feeling.

Some wedding days are beautiful because everything goes according to plan.

I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever look at weddings the same again.

The culture. The honor. The joy. The intentionality. The way family isn’t just invited but deeply involved. The way celebration is felt with your whole body, not just observed.

American weddings can sometimes feel so rushed and performative, but this felt rooted. Alive. Rich in meaning, respect, tradition, and community. Every moment carried weight while somehow still feeling wildly joyful.

It reminded me that weddings were never meant to just be enjoyed. They were meant to be communal.
