This is how I create my Cenotaphs. Watch to find a walkthrough of what I call "3d Printing In Cold Blood" because I am intentionally causing it to fail.

Cenotaph #53 - For Captain Beefheart: Neon Meate Dream of a Octafish

There are many more to see at my newly redesigned website, collinthomas.net

The Cenotaphs are exclusively black-and-white photographs of figures, shapes and statues created using additive manufacturing (3d printing). They are hardened and accessorized with epoxies, adhesives, glitters, spices and other various supplements. When the initial monuments are digitally designed, they are given parameters intended to make them “fail” in a typical setting. These uncontrollable faults are the entire purpose and I have deemed the premeditated, murderous process “Printing in Cold Blood.” Each Cenotaph is meant as a grave marker dedicated to musicians who have inspired me over the years and act as a nod to my prior life as a musician.

Cenotaph Second #51 - for Per Ohlin

I create Cenotaphs — black-and-white photos of 3D-printed figures, shapes and statues, hardened and adorned with epoxies, adhesives, glitter, spices and other supplements. I design each monument with parameters meant to make it “fail” in a typical setting — a deliberate, premeditated process I call “Printing in Cold Blood.” Each Cenotaph is a grave marker for musicians who’ve inspired me and a nod to my earlier life as a musician.
