AI is a tool, to be used at ones discretion. Although we don’t use AI in any way I think it’s important for anyone to know how AI is used specifically in photography.

Things to Consider:
✅ AI should be used for tools and can be done well
✅ AI can assist in a smooth consistent process for clients
❌AI should not be replacing our jobs, or our eye for things
❌ AI should not be aiming to replace someone’s face

These are just a few of the common AI programs thay are used in the photographer world.

Imagen AI: Learns your editing style and automatically edits full galleries to match it. Great for speeding up wedding and session edits.

Aftershoot: Uses AI to cull photos by finding the sharpest images, detecting closed eyes/blinks, duplicates, and selecting the best shots. It can also edit images with AI profiles.

Adobe Lightroom AI- Includes AI masking tools that can automatically select subjects, skies, backgrounds, clothing, teeth, and more for faster targeted edits.

Evoto AI- Portrait-retouching software that can quickly smooth skin, adjust facial features, whiten teeth, remove blemishes, and edit backgrounds.

Topaz Photo AI: Enhances image quality with AI sharpening, noise reduction.

ChatGPT: Can help photographers write captions, content etc.

Can we normalize not ghosting photographers after inquiring?
We spend time responding to inquiries, checking availability, answering questions, creating custom quotes, and helping you find the best fit for your session or wedding day. If you decide to go a different direction, that’s completely okay. If you’re not ready to book, that’s okay too.
But a simple:
“Thank you, but we’ve decided to go another route.”
or
“We’re going to hold off for now.”
goes a long way.
Photographers are real people behind the screen, not automated booking systems. A 10-second message provides closure and allows us to move forward instead of wondering if you’re still interested.
Kindness costs nothing, and communication is always appreciated.
