After a day of exploring some tight forest roads and finding a few campsites that were… just okay, we made our way back to a spot we camped at last October. This remote campsite is only about a mile from a couple of lakes with some pretty crazy Bigfoot stories surrounding them. 👀
We set up camp, relaxed for a bit, and then headed out to explore the forest. We tried making our way down to one of the lakes, but the terrain quickly became way too rugged to continue. We did, however, manage to make it to the Pacific Crest Trail, which was pretty awesome!
Back at camp, we cooked up some fajita quesadillas, kicked back around the fire, and enjoyed a quiet evening in the forest. And when we say quiet… the night was silent. Too silent. There was nothing actually happening, but something about being out there in that deep, dark forest just felt incredibly uneasy.
The next morning, we made some ultimate breakfast sandwiches, explored a couple of nearby forest roads, packed up camp, and hit the road for our next adventure.
Sometimes nothing has to happen for a place to give you that feeling that something just isn't quite right. 🌲🔥👀
