Not A Bad Place To Camp!!

We head back to the mountains near Mt. St. Helens in search of a great place to camp—and we end up finding an incredible riverside campsite tucked away in a beautiful canyon.

After a day of exploring some tight forest roads and finding a few campsites that were… just okay, we made our way back to a spot we camped at last October. This remote campsite is only about a mile from a couple of lakes with some pretty crazy Bigfoot stories surrounding them. 👀

We set up camp, relaxed for a bit, and then headed out to explore the forest. We tried making our way down to one of the lakes, but the terrain quickly became way too rugged to continue. We did, however, manage to make it to the Pacific Crest Trail, which was pretty awesome!

Back at camp, we cooked up some fajita quesadillas, kicked back around the fire, and enjoyed a quiet evening in the forest. And when we say quiet… the night was silent. Too silent. There was nothing actually happening, but something about being out there in that deep, dark forest just felt incredibly uneasy.

The next morning, we made some ultimate breakfast sandwiches, explored a couple of nearby forest roads, packed up camp, and hit the road for our next adventure.

Sometimes nothing has to happen for a place to give you that feeling that something just isn't quite right. 🌲🔥👀

Thumbnail Thursday!! In this weeks episode we are headed back to a remote campsite we stayed at last October, tucked deep in the forest and only about a mile from two lakes surrounded by some pretty wild Bigfoot stories. 👀👣

We explored the roads, made our way toward the lakes and the Pacific Crest Trail, then headed back to camp for fajita quesadillas, a fire, and a quiet night.

Nothing happened… but the forest was dead silent, and something about being out there just felt… off. 👀

Sometimes you don’t need to see anything to know a place feels a little strange.

After scouting a couple of campsites that just didn't feel right, we stumbled across a ridge camp we never even had marked on our maps... and it instantly became one of our favorite places we've ever camped. With an incredible view of Mt. St. Helens, we spent the evening relaxing with a few cold beers, cooking steak bites and homemade mac & cheese, watching an unforgettable sunset, and stargazing around the propane fire.

The next morning was just as perfect with a slow start, our ultimate breakfast sandwich, and one last chance to soak in the view before packing up and heading off to the next adventure. Sometimes the best campsites are the ones you never planned to find.
