One of the biggest reasons families never schedule portraits isn't because they don't want them. It's because they're worried.
They're worried their kids won't sit still. They're worried their toddler will have a meltdown, their teenager will refuse to smile, or they'll be the one who feels awkward in front of the camera. Some tell themselves they'll book a session after they lose weight or when life finally slows down.
But here's what we've learned after photographing families: every family has its own beautiful rhythm.
Some children are shy and need a little time to warm up. Others arrive with enough energy to power the entire studio. Some siblings can't stop laughing together, while others spend the whole session teasing each other. We don't expect your family to fit into a perfect little box, because perfection isn't what creates meaningful portraits.
Our job isn't to force everyone into stiff poses or fake smiles. It's to get to know your personalities, guide you through the experience, and create artwork that reflects who your family truly is in this season of life. The hugs, the laughter, the playful chaos, the quiet moments, and yes, even those wonderfully energetic little bunnies, all become part of your family's story.
One day, your children won't be this little. They won't laugh the same way, reach for your hand the same way, or fit perfectly in your lap. These portraits become more than pictures. They become a reminder of what life felt like right now.
So don't wait for everyone to be older, calmer, or more "photogenic." Let your kids be kids. Let your family be exactly who they are. We'll take care of the rest, and together we'll create something you'll treasure for generations.
