A little look at my branding session with Crowned Beauty by Norma ✨

This was actually my first time doing a full branding photography session like this, and I had SO much fun with it! We captured everything from professional portraits and her space to behind-the-scenes shots of Norma doing what she does best. 🤍

It was so amazing getting to work with Norma and bring her brand to life through photos that she can actually use across her social media, website, marketing and more.

A little reintroduction 🤍

Hi, I’m Mia! I’m originally from New Zealand 🇳🇿, came to the U.S. to play college golf, graduated from TAMUK, and now work there full-time in Marketing & Communications.

Some of you know me from golf, some from on TikTok, some through my various colleges, and some of you are brand new here!

I’ve been creating content for years, building my own platforms, working with brands, photography, social media, and pretty much always having either a camera or my phone in my hand. Eventually, I decided I wanted to turn all of that into something of my own.

So I created By Skyla 🤍 I built the website myself, created the brand from the ground up, and now I’m working on growing my own business while getting to help other people and brands grow theirs too.

I’m still learning as I go, but I’m really excited to see what I can turn this into.

September Mini Day — Part One 🤍

Still smiling over yesterday. Such a sweet day filled with so many lovely people, and I had the best time capturing a little piece of each of them 🥹

So thankful to everyone who came out and spent part of their Saturday with me, and to Rancho Cielito Lindo for letting me photograph in such a beautiful space.

My first family shoot 🥹

I was definitely a little nervous going into this one, but this family made it SO easy. The kids were the sweetest, so much fun to work with, and honestly made me realize how much I love capturing all the random little moments in between the posed ones.

I learned so much from this shoot, what works, what I’d do differently, how to keep things moving with kids, and when to just let them do their thing and keep taking photos.

Still very much learning as I go, but I’m really proud of how these turned out!
