On this beautiful Monday •You• get to decide whether to see beauty around you and speak life. Or not. Truly that simple. Yet…incredibly hard to choose to speak, to breathe life of encouragements especially when exhausted or doing a rough moment. It takes a moment of a radically decisive moment of seeing the beauty and speaking life to both encourage and be of encouragement to others. On this beautiful Monday that is not anything like the others I see the beauty of mankind that God breathed life into and how He loves them.

A personal goal is to explore something or a place that new at least once a month. To expand my horizons and stretch out of my comfort zone. To gather up friends who are willing to to visit new places like a thrift shop and old doors in Morristown without much of a clue what’s there. Simply to have fun, build relationships, and feast the eyes and ears on beauty. It’s an investment- always is when one explores/travels.

Beautiful Monday you are dear to me. While Sundays are the start of the week for me, I consider you the day actionable work into dreams. Sundays prep me for you- day I play and rest. But you in your own kind of beauty allow me the privilege of working with my hands, mind, and heart. Sometimes you’re hard, other times you’re playful. But always it’s the fresh start of once again firing up the week with strength of honest work. Where we pre-tend that which is ours, glance over our lanes to make sure it’s correct, and set the tone (this one you are best at) for rest of the work week. And so I begin the night before with walk and prayer filling expecting a beautiful Monday.

Travel isn’t an escape. Not for me. If anything it helps me to stay rooted. How does that work? Travel opens my eyes to beauty of nature, how do people live going about their ordinary lives, and it’s makes me keenly aware how much we do in fact need community. I travel to remind myself- Home is the place to rest and restore so I can go ahead explore and bring life not just to myself…but to others. When I invite you in on a journey it’s not only for me, it’s for you. To see this vast and beautiful world that is so different than us and yet eerily the same. That just maybe just maybe your world too will be filled with beauty and life because we can discover it together.
