After painting a beachy scene this week, but living in the DESERT, I thought I should add an abstract cactus/cacti/cactuses piece to my collection. So, the left is what I did after midnight last night, and the right is its complete state 17 hours later. A “quickie” to be sure. But since I want to capture the “top of mind” impression and feeling rather than the accuracy of a particular site, this works just fine. This takes me back to cross-country road trips as a kid when we tried to count the saguaros between, say Tucumcari and Albuquerque. Impossible! I’m going to enjoy this on my kitchen wall here in the desert unless someone MUST have it. 15” by 30” by 1.5” acrylic on canvas.
