I’m so proud to share how NYT best-selling author displays my BOOK NOOK painting ❤️Isn’t this bursting-with-love-and-color home office a delight?? I adore the mixture of colors, styles, frames. She made the purchase just after the Maui Fire last year which allowed me to donate proceeds to the wildfire survivors. Since then, we have learned we lived a stone’s throw from each other once upon a time, and went to cross-town rival high schools (though I was years ahead) among other serendipitous parallels 🩷🩷 Color and small world stories give me joy 🥰

MY FIRST!! My first attempt at painting with palette knives. Gotta say I have a long way to go as the inconsistency here is way too obvious. And I didn’t think it would be so messy! My paint was a bit thin which lead to some finger painting too. lol. But hope you can enjoy the colors and the casual picnic setting intended to be the lower slopes near Mt. Diablo, Contra Costa County, California.

I love all kinds of art- the ones I paint and almost all styles done by others. And I liberally mix it all in my walls. This is an example from my mountain house in Arnold. CA. The red poppies are “mine”, the red abstract of a French market collected decades ago from Half Moon Bay, CA and then my beloved signed and numbered Chagall “Woman Sleeping with Flowers.” Do you have a favorite gallery wall? After painting a beachy scene this week, but living in the DESERT, I thought I should add an abstract cactus/cacti/cactuses piece to my collection. So, the left is what I did after midnight last night, and the right is its complete state 17 hours later. A “quickie” to be sure. But since I want to capture the “top of mind” impression and feeling rather than the accuracy of a particular site, this works just fine. This takes me back to cross-country road trips as a kid when we tried to count the saguaros between, say Tucumcari and Albuquerque. Impossible! I’m going to enjoy this on my kitchen wall here in the desert unless someone MUST have it. 15” by 30” by 1.5” acrylic on canvas.

JOY! I gave a friend tulips as a hostess gift this week. The next morning she sent this pic of the flowers in front of my painting in her Palm Desert kitchen. This is how we should live… with happy art and flowers of appreciation. I hurt for those who are lonely or sad. I paint to bring joy.
