MOMS GET IN THE PICTURES!!
“Even the photographer needs to get in front the camera every once in a while”
I’ve always loved pictures, the stories behind them, the memories. Every year like so many others family pics roll around. Well I looked on my wall the other night and saw ours… from 2 years ago. I could lie to myself and others and just say time got away from me..
But the real truth is, I was hiding from it. Prolonging as long as I could because I don’t like what I see on the other side of the camara. I often feel like my weight is a wall standing between me and seeing what’s beautiful in the photos. My family, my kids, what we created, the memories.
Last minute beach trip, no outfits, no plan. We picked up a dress on the way. “That I hated” but it worked. And we took the pictures! But what stuck out the most to me was this. “Mom, come take a picture with us” my kids didn’t care about my weight. They just wanted me in them. Often in my shoots, I tell moms! “Get in the pictures” I finally took my own advice and my kids were so happy to have me in our pictures.
