photokindred I love making images. I love sharing them. I love capturing connection in a way that feels real. That is the true reason I take photos. Hey, my name is Joel!

I look for genuine moments—the kind that bring smiles, make you confident, make you see yourself in a new way. I am a dedicated wedding photographer based in Central Pennsylvania, bringing my own unique blend of creativity and insight to everything I photograph. My goal is to uncover what makes you and your wedding distinct. My style is a vibrant and creative expression of my personal view of the

world. I aim to connect with and share the beauty of genuine emotions. My approach centers on capturing the vibrant, authentic feelings that make your wedding day unforgettable and uniquely yours. You can expect me to be present throughout the day, patiently observing and ready to capture moments as they unfold. I will integrate seamlessly into your celebration, creating images that are as warm and genuine as the love you’re celebrating. Imagine looking back at your wedding album years from now—not just recalling the faces of your closest friends and family, but also reliving the moments that made your day special. Each moment tells a story, and each story helps keep the memories of your day alive.

Just a quick share to highlight a friend in the industry and a wonderful B&B in the Hershey area. The Inn at Westwynd Farm is a wonderful place and Bill was an easy going subject willing to go along with some of my crazy ideas.

Who says portrait sessions have to wait for warmer weather? Winter can offer some truly beautiful and unique backdrops, and you just have to find the right location, embrace it and time things right.

I am not sure what was more sore after this event, my feet or my smile. So so much going on, so much to capture and so much fun.

I volunteered to photograph the GiGi's Playhouse Lancaster Gala for the second year in a row. This year's theme was Glitz and Glam. They even had a red carpet. I got to experience what it is like to be a paparazzi. Check out the blog post below.

A little delayed with my IG post on this one, but totally worth the wait, right? Gabby and Eddy in Jim Thorpe, freakin fun as heck. A little chilly, but totally worth it. We warmed up over lunch afterwards, so all was good. There are so many more on my blog @ Photokindred.com thanks for looking 🙏❤️

Tell me you can look at these images without smiling. I will call you a fibber. These three were an absolute hoot to photograph. The love, the playfulness and the energy all made for my favorite kind of images. I hope that you can see that too.

Not every portrait session has to be a long walk in the woods or wandering Lancaster City with no agenda. Sometimes all you need is 10 minutes outside a coffee shop to make something meaningful.

Brian and I dropped by Passenger Roastery & Coffee Bar on Plum Street, his absolute favorite spot. You can smell the place as soon as you step out of the car. It makes me want to move into the neighborhood just to sit on a porch and breathe in freshly roasted coffee all day.

This was a simple, semi-impromptu session we’ve been talking about forever. Finally made it happen. Just friends, a cup of coffee, and a few honest portraits.

There’s something special about photographing a family you’ve known for years. The Martins move together with such ease and care. We spent the afternoon wandering their property in that golden Fall light. No rush. Just time to be together. I’m grateful I get to keep telling their story as it grows.
