It’s that time again for the senior portrait session give-away! Do you know a deserving Class of 2026 senior who would enjoy a feel-good portrait session? Maybe a senior who could use a pick-me-up, or one who wouldn’t otherwise get an opportunity for senior portraits? Please send your nominations throughout the month of November (with details on why your nominee should be picked). In December we will review the candidates and select a special senior who will be photographed next semester completely free of charge!

Class of 2025 seniors have begun! This one flew in from Virginia for her photo shoot with Twin Images, and Kansas did not disappoint!

Photography is the art of recording light. It is so much about LIGHT to accomplish a beautiful portrait. Here is a recent example I want to share which helps to see that. The first image I worked to properly expose the subjects in the environment, but I lost the environment. Second image I worked to properly expose the environment, but I lost the subjects. And hopefully you can see why professional photographers bring light with them in that third image! Expose for the background then use your strobe (flash) to properly light the subjects. Silly as it seems, this still gives me goosebumps!!
