🔥 Legacy Action Friday — Stories That Matter

This week, we’re focusing on the stories that hold us together — the ones that remind us of strength, gratitude, and hope even when life feels uncertain. With the Spokane fires still active, protecting those stories isn’t just thoughtful… it’s essential.

💛 Your Legacy Action for This Friday
Choose one photo that represents a moment that truly mattered this summer.

Write a short three‑sentence legacy story about it:
What happened
Why it mattered
Who you want to remember it

Save it in your “Stories That Matter” or “Stories That Survive” folder.

This simple act turns a single image into a legacy that lasts.

💻 🔥 Critical Action Step: Back Up Your Entire Computer Today

This is the part that matters most — and it’s the step too many families skip.

Your computer holds thousands of digital memories:
Photos
Videos
Letters
Creative projects
Business files
Scanned documents
Family history
And everything you’ve digitized

If your computer is lost in a fire, flood, theft, or any catastrophic event, every one of those memories disappears instantly — unless you have a full‑system cloud backup.

⭐ Why Backblaze Matters

Backblaze automatically backs up:
Your entire computer
Every folder
Every photo
Every document
Every external hard drive you plug in
No dragging files.
No selecting folders.
No complicated setup.
Just complete protection.

This means if the worst happens, you can restore everything — your entire digital life — with one download.

⭐ Please don’t lose time on this step
Wildfires move fast.
Evacuations happen with minutes of warning.
And computers are one of the first things lost.
Backing up your entire system is one of the most important legacy actions you can take for your family.
It protects not just your photos, but your stories, your work, your history, your memories — all of it.

🌈 Why This Matters
Families affected by the Spokane fires have already lost homes, albums, and computers.
But those who had full‑system cloud backups were able to recover their digital memories — proof that preparation preserves legacy.
This is your moment to protect yours.

🌞 Memory Monday Tips & Tricks

🔥 Emergency Grab‑and‑Go Memory Kit

When wildfires are active — like the ones still burning in Spokane — families often have only minutes to evacuate. In those moments, the things people reach for first are their memories.

This week’s Memory Monday is all about preparing a simple, fast, life‑saving kit you can grab instantly if you ever need to leave your home in a hurry.

💛 What to Include in Your Grab‑and‑Go Memory Kit

1 — A Flash Drive of Digitized Photos
Choose 100–200 of your most irreplaceable images:
Childhood photos
Wedding or anniversary pictures
Family heritage images
Military or graduation photos
Save them on a small USB drive and keep it in your kit.

2 — 10–20 Irreplaceable Prints
Select the prints you cannot replace.
Place them in a waterproof pouch or archival zip bag.

3 — A Laminated “Family Memory List”
A one‑page list of:
Family names
Birthdates
Key life events
Locations of important albums or digital folders

4 — A Small Waterproof Pouch
Use this to store:
USB drives
SD cards
Important documents
A few treasured prints

5 — Optional: A Mini‑Notebook for Legacy Notes
Write down:
Family stories
Special traditions
Names of people in old photos
Places you want future generations to remember

⭐ Important Note: Protect Your Entire Computer Too
Your Grab‑and‑Go Kit protects your most precious memories — but your computer holds thousands of additional files, photos, documents, and creative projects.

For true peace of mind, consider backing up your entire computer (and any external hard drives) to a trusted cloud backup service such as Backblaze.

https://www.backblaze.com/best-online-backup-service.html

This ensures that if your computer is damaged in a fire or any catastrophic event, every digital file is still safe and recoverable.
This is one of the smartest, simplest steps families can take during wildfire season.

🌈 Why This Matters
During wildfire evacuations, families often lose everything in minutes.

A simple Grab‑and‑Go Memory Kit — paired with a full‑system cloud backup — ensures your most precious stories survive, no matter what happens.

🔥 Legacy Action Friday — Stories That Survive

Honoring the moments that endure — even through uncertainty, loss, or unexpected change.

Summer is full of joy, adventure, and sunshine… but it’s also a season that reminds us how fragile life can be. With the Spokane fires affecting so many families, this week’s Legacy Action Friday invites you to pause and preserve a moment that truly matters.

💛 Your Legacy Action for This Friday
Choose one photo from this summer that represents:
Strength
Hope
Gratitude
A moment that still shines, even in hard times
Then write a three‑sentence legacy story about it:
📝 What happened
📝 Who was there
📝 Why it matters now

Save it in your “Summer 2026” album under a new folder called Stories That Survive.
This becomes a place where your most meaningful moments can live — protected, honored, and ready to be shared with future generations.

💬 Some moments don’t just make us smile — they help us endure.

Today’s Legacy Action Friday invites you to choose one summer photo that represents strength, hope, or gratitude.

Write a short three‑sentence story about why that moment matters, and save it in a new folder called Stories That Survive.
Because even in difficult seasons, our memories remind us who we are… and what we’ve overcome.

💙 **To everyone affected by the Spokane-area fires...**

If you've been able to return to your property, **please don't throw away damaged photos, albums, negatives, slides, home movies, or keepsakes.**

Even if they're covered in soot, smoke, ash, or water, **gather whatever you can find and set it aside.** You don't have to deal with it today.

📸 Here are a few important tips:

• Wear clean gloves if possible to avoid transferring oils to the photos.
• Handle photos by the edges.
• If photos are wet, gently separate them only if they come apart easily. If they stick together, don't force them.
• Lay wet photos flat on a clean surface to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight and never use a hair dryer or heat.
• Don't wipe away soot or scrub damaged photos. That can cause permanent damage.
• Place everything you recover in clean boxes or containers and store them in a cool, dry place until you're ready to sort through them.

❤️ Most importantly...

**You don't have to make decisions today.**

Right now, your job is simply to **save what you can.** There will be time later to clean, restore, preserve, and organize these precious pieces of your family's story.

Our hearts are with every family, every first responder, and every displaced pet affected by these devastating fires.

Please take care of yourselves first.

💙 With love,

To our neighbors affected by the Spokane fires...
Our hearts are with you as you face unimaginable loss.
Homes can be rebuilt. Possessions can be replaced.
But the memories they held are priceless.
If you have photos, videos, or keepsakes that survived—even if they're damaged—don't throw them away. Many can be restored, preserved, and protected for generations to come.
And if your memories are gone, know that your stories still live on in the hearts of those who love you.
