it’s been such an honor watching these two grow their relationship from the very beginning, all the way into their engagement. they complement each other so well and truly bring out the best in one another. i can’t frickin wait for their wedding and am so unbelievably lucky to be a part of it all.

also thanks again for this insanely cool trip to washington, guys. couldn’t think of better people to go exploring with.

here’s your sign to have a first look with your soon-to-be-spouse on your wedding day. this kind of overflowing emotion - the nerves, the giddiness, the overwhelming joy - typically doesn’t happen down the aisle. don’t get me wrong, seeing your spouse for the first time down the aisle can be beautiful too. but you’re also in front of an audience and that can be daunting. from someone who has been there for everything, i can confidently say that these intimate first looks, apart from every distraction and every pressure, are when you get to be your truest selves, just for each other. and that is beautiful.

jaydee and noah’s engagement session was f a r from ordinary - it was crazy from the start lol. i very wisely roll up in my sedan to the dunes and promptly realize that my wheels are going to fall off my car if i continued 😂 take 2 in a truck: we all pile in and make it out to where we want to shoot, get sand in places sand should definitely not be 😅 and finish up and head back to the truck to leave just as the sun is almost set. we hop in and get this bad boy going and...don’t move. wheels are spinning but we’re not going anywhere. i’m like “okay noah we need a big strong man to push” so he gets out and is breaking a mean sweat, but nothing is happening still. we’re freaking out - we don’t have cell service - we’re all but ready to sleep in this truck overnight 😅 when here come two brave knights in shining armor and a tiny nissan pickup. they apparently had seen us from the top of a hill, had a good laugh, and then decided to come save us. it took a lot of manpower and a snapped tow strap, but we made it out alive and lived to tell the story. god bless those two tiny men.

a few years back, i shot liz and austin’s wedding - my first wedding ever, and it was such an honor. so when they asked me to shoot them in their work-in-progress home, obviously i jumped on it! they’re such a wonderful couple and i’m so glad that i can call them friends after such a long time. congrats on buying your first house, you two! you deserve it so much. and i’m so excited to document the next step in your lives together!
