One of things I hear the most is, "I didnt realize how big your pieces are!" when someone sees them in person for the first time.

Its hard to show scale from a photo on social media.

Most of my pieces are 22x30 but even writing that out doesnt always drive the point home. Not without something to show the scale.

So heres a shot of my stopping point for the day with my pencils to give you an idea of the size. I cant wait to see this guy all finished, although the mane flying around has me more than a little nervous!

A little more time on this guy today and I'm starting to see what the final product will look like

Most of the time on my pieces I tend to work top to bottom. On this piece i just really needed to get that halter finished. Not sure why.

I had the pleasure of being asked to be the featured artist for our 100th continuous Willits Frontier Days Rodeo. I said yes, but only if I was allowed to hold a western art show to highlight all our amazing local artists and youth.

It was a lot considering I had zero experience in hosting an art show... lol!

But I had support and guidance from some amazing people, Marcy, Tracy, my Mom, the City of Willits and so many more I couldnt possibly name them all but trust me I couldnt have done it without you!

The local talent that showed up impressed me so much and I'm so excited to see how this event grows with each passing year!

So artists, be thinking about pieces for next years show!

Its been a year and we're only half way thru... To say I hit a slump is an understatement.

Maybe burnout is a good word.

I put my focus towards my kids and their activities, along with a few other things I'll tell you about soon, and just didnt seem to have anything left for art...

But thats why I do this, so I can be there for my kids when they need me.

Mom is my first job and by far the most important.

I still have several pieces in the works but I needed something to re-light that spark.

I have been wanting a good shot of a bronc for a while so when I caught the reference photo for this last month at our local rodeo I knew it needed to end up on my desk.

So heres to the second half of 2026!
