It’s with mixed emotions that I have decided to take this summer/fall off from capturing families with my camera.

To be honest, I am just not sure how much time I’ll have since I have a couple new opportunities I’m committed to. I would never want to give anything less than you all deserve and I just don’t feel comfortable committing to any sessions.

I appreciate all the love and support over the last couple of years as I pulled Oliver Beckett Photography out of retirement, it felt good to be behind the lens again. I don’t believe this is the end of my love for photography, but instead just a little pause.

This one is special -- Amanda and Ron (mom and dad) are from the same hometown I am. I played sports with Amanda & was great friends with her sister, Haley who I graduated with. & it was Amanda who hooked me up with my job as an academic advisor at the Kelce School of Business at Pitt my freshman year. & now, I get to capture her family. It's been a long time since I have seen Amanda but yet because of Facebook, I've seen her kiddos grow up and just so blessed to be able to capture them with my camera! They are such cool kids and you could just feel the love between them all.

One of the hardest things about stepping away from capturing families 5+ years ago was knowing I wouldn't see these kiddos grow up through my lens.

One of the biggest blessings after coming back, is getting to capture those same families and see just how much the kiddos have grown. For instance, Kendall, last time I captured her she was 6 months old, look at her now.

Okay friends----this is PAST due but I finally feel like the boys and I have found a rhythm with all of us being home and with school, so here are the JULY dates that I have available---see comments to claim.

If you want a session but the dates listed don't work for you, just reach out as I purposely didn't list all my available dates so I can work around schedules too.

& SWMO friends---there's a date listed for you too (July 11th -- will do at least two sessions).

Sometimes in life there are people you meet and you just know your paths were meant to cross---and this lady, Mrs. Prestridge, is one of those people for our family.

She was Kaden & Logan's 4th grade teacher--the ONLY teacher since kindergarten that had both South boys. & I can't tell you how blessed we were to have her in our boys' life & ours. So to be able to capture her family, well, it was pretty special for me.

Here's to hoping she moves to 5th grade. 😉

I can't tell you how good it felt to be back behind my camera knowing there are so many more sessions to come. & having this family mark my return was just icing on the cake. & we beat the April snow!
