RS Community,

I wanted to inform you that around 2:00pm today one of our staff member's Centegix badges was accidentally pressed to signal a Code Red - we were quickly able to identify this was a false button press and an announcement was made on the intercom and walkie system as soon as we could (within about 1 minute of alert). Teaching and learning continued, but we acknowledge that false alarms can be triggering for everyone - SMSD has tight processes in place for quickly identifying false alarms through the use of Centegix, and an officer was still dispatched out to our school to confirm all was safe.

As always, reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Jess Risinger

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Read-A-Thon!

Thanks to the incredible support of our students, families, and Rising Star community, we exceeded our fundraising goal and raised an amazing ⭐ $16,239 ⭐ to support our school!

On Friday, we celebrated all of our students’ hard work with a school assembly, where our top readers got the very special honor of pieing a staff member in the face! It was such a fun way to recognize their reading accomplishments and wrap up an incredible Read-A-Thon.

And, of course, we had to end the celebration in true Rising Star fashion... Stella the Star pied Mrs. Risinger! The students loved every second of it!

A huge thank you again to everyone who read, donated, shared, and cheered on our students. What an incredible Read-A-Thon!
