One of the best parts of my summer is being able to share the love of art with kids who love art! Art Camp this year is all about the Movies. It’s been so fun to get to re-experience some of my childhood favorites and be reintroduced to the animation, acting, music, creativity, whimsy and magic that originally inspired me to be the artist and teacher I am today. 🍿🎨πŸŽ₯🎭🎢🎬 Week 1: Hook/ Peter Pan, Toy Story, W***y Wonka (& Charlie) and the Chocolate Factory.

This is the beginning of a β€œwhat should I do with this discarded material?” project. I salvaged these glass doors from a furniture upcycle I did years ago and have collected all these glass scraps from my current adventures in stained glass. It’s my first mosaic, so the learning curve is REAL. Super excited to see what she will look like when the other side is completed! πŸ¦‹

Gotta take the time to brag on my private art students: Peyton and Payton! Peyton won two separate awards at the Florida Strawberry Festival for her Lisa Frank-esque strawberry painting and Payton was 1 out of 6 designs chosen in Hillsborough County for the Bucs Acts of Kindness poster contest πŸ€—πŸ€— Pretty soon they’re going to be teaching me!

Ran out of foil for one BABY piece. Other than that she needs patina and a frame 😍
