A little reminder for the parents who want the photos… but don’t necessarily want the internet part. 🤎

You are always allowed to have boundaries around how your family is shared online.

Maybe that means no photos of your children’s faces. Maybe it means no social media at all. Maybe you’re comfortable with back-of-head images, wide shots, details, or only certain photos being shared.

Whatever feels right for your family is completely okay.

If you have specific sharing preferences, just let me know when you book. I’ll make a note of it and respect those wishes when I’m choosing what to share from your gallery.

Your photos can still be beautiful, emotional, and completely yours without ever becoming public content. 🤎

Currently dreaming about what this spot is going to look like when all that green turns to fall 🍂

If you’re close to Carroll County + have a session with me this fall, this location should absolutely be on your radar. Water, open fields, tall grasses, tons of trees… I already know it’s going to be GOOD once the leaves start changing. 🤎

Part two, because after telling you what I wouldn’t spend your money on for family photos… I had to tell you what I actually WOULD. 😂🤎

And no, I don’t think you need to spend a fortune preparing for your session.

The things I think are worth the money are the ones that make the experience easier, help you feel more like yourself, or make sure your photos actually get enjoyed after your gallery is delivered.

A photographer whose work you LOVE.
Help with styling if outfits stress you out.
An outfit you feel amazing in.
A really good lipstick. 💄
And PLEASE — print the photos. Preferably somewhere that’s going to reproduce them beautifully and make them last.

You don’t need every upgrade, every beauty appointment, or an entirely new wardrobe.

Spend where it actually makes a difference. 🤎

This is the magic of a full session. 🤎

Mini sessions are amazing for updated family photos, holiday cards, and getting a handful of beautiful images without committing to a longer session.

But every once in a while, especially while your kids are little, I really think it’s worth giving yourselves more time.

More time to play.
More time to wander.
More time for the shy ones to warm up and the wild ones to be wild.
More time for the little personalities that make your family your family to actually show up.

That’s what I love most about full sessions.

Yes, we’ll get the smiling-at-the-camera photos too — but we also get the belly laughs, the sibling chaos, the running, the snuggles, the tiny things you didn’t even realize you’d want to remember.

Minis capture what your family looks like right now.
Full sessions give us a little more room to capture what this season of your family feels like. 🤎

And with little kids changing as quickly as they do, that part is pretty special.

Soft and romantic can still feel completely like you. 🤎

For these two, that looked like a green dress in an open field, ultrasound photos reflected in a motorcycle mirror, plenty of laughing, and a second look surrounded by the prettiest golden light.

It wasn’t about recreating someone else’s maternity session. It was about blending the beautiful with the personal and documenting them exactly as they are in this chapter.
