🎨 Chalk the Block – Downtown Logansport
I walked downtown today and the streets were totally quiet—just the calm before Chalk the Block hits tomorrow! Hosted by Logan’s Landing, the festival officially kicks off Saturday, July 26, from 2:00 – 7:00 PM on North Street between 5th & 6th .

Here’s what you can look forward to:
• Pavement transformed into amazing chalk art across Professional, Amateur, and Open Class categories, with over $800 in prizes 
• Live music by local talent like Mike Almon, Tracy Boucher, and DJ Daniel Dominguez 
• Free chalk and activities for kids in the Lil Chalkers Zone 
• A walkable chalk-footprint trail from July 14–26 leading to the main event, connecting DORA spots and surprises throughout downtown

🏙️ Participating Local Businesses (DORA & Downtown Spots)

Several downtown businesses within the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) are part of the fun—offering signature drinks, snacks, and a spot to watch the art unfold:
• Black Dog Coffee / Gifts / Tavern – Gift finds, coffee, and drinks on 6th Street  
• Bonus Pints / Record Farm / Vibrant Events – Vinyl, events, and brews on Broadway 
• Boardwalk Café – Casual local café on Broadway 
• Amelio’s on the River – Riverside dining just a block away 

These businesses will be offering special signature drinks and shaved ice, tacos, kettle corn, sundaes, and more over the course of the event .

Sat downtown snapping photos of the empty street today—can’t believe how still it was! Tomorrow, everything changes. 🎉
Artists will crowd in, local businesses will start pouring drinks & snacks, and North Street will pop with color and creativity.

If you’re around, come down, grab a treat, follow the chalk footprints, and soak in the fun. I’ll be posting updates as the sidewalk art rolls in.
