One of these is not like the other. Just remember that. I think it's funny/sad at the same time the amount of push for this new image of the black woman on the subway. Yet, she was never harmed or in danger and she got off safe and woke up the next day. Yet, the media wants to push on how much danger she was in. Also, meanwhile the white girl sat there dying with not a single person to help, not even the bus driver stopped to do anything.

17 years ago today, I set out on a journey I never imagined I would take — and one that would become one of the most meaningful accomplishments of my life.

A lot of people told us we were crazy. They said we had no business attempting it. They told us we should stop before we even started.

But we didn’t stop.

We set out with a purpose, pushed beyond every doubt, and accomplished something unforgettable. We traveled more than 4,000 miles to Tanzania, Africa, to climb the tallest freestanding mountain in the world — Mount Kilimanjaro 19,341ft.

Alongside an incredible team of guides and amazing people, I helped lead a group of visually impaired individuals on a journey that tested every part of us — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Together, we climbed. Together, we pushed forward. Together, we proved that vision is not only something you see with your eyes.

We achieved our goal, made history, and set world records. But more than that, we showed what is possible when determination is louder than doubt.

Seventeen years later, I still carry that mountain with me — not just as a memory, but as a reminder that the impossible only stays impossible until someone decides to climb it.
