It's been twenty-four years since the not-guilty verdict was read, and it tore America apart, further dividing a country with a history of racial fault lines, because former football star O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the brutal 1994 double murder of his estranged wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. In the almost historically epic 252-day trial, Simpson's so-called "dream team", which consisted of Johnnie Cochran, Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian, Alan Dershowitz, F. Lee Bailey, Barry Scheck, Peter Neufeld, Carl Douglas and Shawn Chapman, worked their legal acumen, as well as employing creative and somewhat controversial methods, to convince the jury that Simpson’s guilt had not been proven “beyond a reasonable doubt,” thus overcoming what the prosecution called a “mountain of evidence” implicating him as the murderer.
While this was the main story, there was also another story that was yet to be told. For the last twenty-four years, there has been someone else who has a wealth of information about the OJ Simpson double murder trial. He can give the people who remember this trial and who followed it with laser focus, another perspective from someone who was inside the courtroom for 15 months, and saw firsthand how the trial was adjudicated, and wants to give his unbiased take on the trial of the century. He was the only journalist who had unprecedented access to many of the key players in the trial, and certain information that other photojournalists weren't privy to. He shot over 19,000 images, some ending up on the front page of national newspapers, magazines and in the interior of the publications as well. He feels it's time to tell his story through the voice and eyes of a witness to judicial history. His name is Haywood Galbreath.
And there will be no better documentary than one from a man and his camera, who fought the system to be able to cover the story, and became a trusted confidant to many of those involved with the trial. Shooting the Trial of the Century: Through the Lens of Haywood Galbreath, will be the truth, backed-up with "receipts". So follow Haywood as he goes through the process of making this documentary, because there will be some explosive revelations that only someone who was there would know.
