I have been covering Ronda Rousey since before her first pro fight. I have photographed her many times training and fighting . She has a work ethic, tenacity and a drive that very few other people possess. I was lucky enough to spend some time at her home shooting her training for her bout against Gina Carano and Ronda looks sharp, focused and better than ever. It’s gonna be a show not to miss on Netflix this Saturday

So many fighters give everything they have to the sport. When they are done, they have very little for their golden years. This bill will help those fighters and give young athletes a better chance to pursue fighting as a career.

Ronda Rousey, Assemblymember Matt Haney, Andy Foster, and Herb Dean held a press conference to announce new legislation, AB 2130, that creates a dedicated funding stream for retirement protections for professional fighters. The bill authorizes the California State Athletic Commission to place sponsor logos on referee and official apparel at combat sports events and requires the majority of that revenue to support fighter pensions. The proposal ensures that fighters receive greater long-term financial protection without raising taxes or increasing ticket prices.
