Until then I’m appreciating those who are keeping film photography alive. Like who taught a medium format workshop at I took recently. Hello my friends! I’m introducing a new project that I’ve been working on for a few months. (But 15 years in the making) … It combines my love of dance with easy-to-follow flowy movements and I’ve started teaching it in November… it continues to evolve. “Building Bridges”

Sending love to all suffering from the fires. My heart breaks for the immense losses so many are going through right now. I have asthma and I’m not able to go into the smoky zones but I do want to help. And to volunteer. I will donate and find ways to contribute as the aftermath of this disaster stretches on. It’s a long road ahead.

I made these ink drawings the night the Eaton fire broke out. I was attending the regular Tuesday night “Art Club” by .collective …At that time I had no idea how much devastation was to ensue over the next few days…

I am grateful to have found an organization dedicated to authentic expression where vulnerability is celebrated. For the past 7 months I have gone almost every week to their Wednesday night “Write Club” and it sparked in me a newfound love of writing and also sharing and hearing and discussing others beautiful, vulnerable and heartfelt writing. It has made me feel more human, connected and not alone.

They are figuring out and sharing resources to help those affected by the fire in addition to putting on dozens of community meetup events each month. I’m just sharing this in case anyone needs a creative outlet and/or is searching for genuine community - I hope to see you at one of their clubs/ meetups! 😌 At a time when we need community more than ever they have stepped up to the plate in a massive way.

I believe in community. And I support these emerging organizations who are committed to building it and creating spaces where genuine connection can flourish. I believe it’s what we all need. Especially now.

All of these figure drawings were done in my first ever college art class. I found an immediate affinity for drawing the human figure from live models. I miss taking ‘life drawing’ classes and hope to start attending some again soon. Other recurring subjects are in my art are Trees and Musical Instruments. 🌲🎷✍️🎨

This workshop has been an idea in my head for almost 2 years. Excited to be bringing it to fruition. I’m grateful to have a collaborator who shares my passion for movement as a healing modality. We plan to develop this into a solid curriculum and to host many more workshops in the future. Thanks to for creating a space for people to connect and try out new things. 🙏🏼

M O V E M E N T L A B V 1

This workshop explores movement as a healing tool. This first of a 4-part series will focus on relationship to the self using movement to explore self compassion and intuition. Topics and activities include: reconnection between body and mind, creating a kinder mental landscape, and emotional resilience. Includes warmup and gentle stretches. Wear soft, comfortable clothes you can move in. Movement Lab is facilitated by Jen & Sylvia, combining backgrounds in dance, somatic practices and resonance healing.
