We drove up to the top of this hill in an old Hummer with cans dragging off the rear bumper. Surrounded by grapes ripe for the picking and a gorgeous view no matter which way you looked, it felt like the perfect California day. With just eight people in the private ceremony, it was intimate and focused. Sometimes, weddings can be so intense and busy, I felt like this was such a great way to mitigate that. When we drove back down, there was the a ton of people waiting with a band playing music as they walked the party into the reception for an evening of celebration.

Being out in places like this really makes you reflect on your insignificance, which I think people should do more often. We get so caught up in our egos and the rat race, it’s important to remember that we are not “all that and a bag of chips.”
